Sources: Texas President Fenves weighing Patterson's Future
It´s from the Chipster
Some key points
It takes a special type of person to deal with all the ass kissing necessary to succeed at UT....
In before Texas is going to steal Rick George thread.
Don't think they are smart enough to even look at him.
They want a big hat. Somebody who can claim a lot of wins and will make a splash. Rick worked in Texas and could be a very good candidate but it won't happen.
I think this situation is a little different just because RG has good connections within the state. It isn't the typical we love RG thread and are worried about every opening across the nation. JR seems to know a lot more about the situation down there than any of us though.
RG seems to be more the Patterson type on paper. UT will be looking for the good ol' boy type.
I miss the moving emojis. This thing needs to roll!
Less actually. Though that applies to most topics.
this announcement is forthcoming.
you didn't hear that from me...
Patterson's future at UT in doubt. In other news today, the sun rises in the east and water is wet.
The splash name and connection to the school put blinders on them to where they wouldn't even consider that a guy whose exit polling at his past employers had him as one of the least likeable dudes ever might rub some big money donors and longtime staffers the wrong way. Oops.
Supposedly being fired today.
Whispers that Charlie Strong should go and see where he saved his resume
Does anyone think if they had a better AD they could have pulled Saban from Alabama?
14 reasons why Patterson has been a disaster
Is there no bad blood between UT and Brown for the way things ended? IIRC, he purposefully waited until UT's first two coaching targets re-upped with their current schools to retire.
At any rate, if somebody like Charlie Strong is on the market at the end of the season I'd be really interested how the season plays out for CU if I'm RG.
Do not know if Strong's style would be a good fit for CU/Boulder. Just my opinion.
Maybe. Seems like Patterson came in and kind of dampened the chatter that had been going on between Texas and Saban's agent:
Long, but good read on what was happening behind the scenes: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/07/26/s...suit-of-nick-saban-alabama-vs-texas.html?_r=0
It´s not the point of this chart, but I´m absolutely dumbfounded that 40k of UT´s 57k season ticket holders in 2014 had season tickets costing 6k+.
Texas Longhorns fire AD Gary Patterson

I hope his exit compensation package includes a gold-plated nametag for his wife.
You could look at it that way I think, or you could blame Dodds for not forcing the issue. I remember there being a fight between Dodds and the President over Mack, and then on top of that there were regents trying to get rid of the president. Texas has really been a sh*tshow.
Tier 1: $550 / season
Tier 2: $525 / season
Tier 3: $450 / season
that covers all but 13,537 of all season ticket prices.
Still, higher than most of CU season ticket prices.
I don't know who did the math in the chart, but the increase based on the totals in the final row is 17.7%. They played some funny games to get to 21%. Either way, that's a big increase.
Also, it has been well documented before that the Texas AD brings in more cash total than any other school. So, Patterson's methods don't really make much sense, unless he was given a mandate to squeeze that much more.
Something about that chart has to be off, I agree. It´s from here
Oh how sweet it would be to watch Sackman infiltrate the Texas AD.
