LONG BEACH, Calif. - University of Colorado junior Carla Manzi Tenorio and sophomore Julyette Steur each won singles matches on day two Saturday afternoon at the three-day Long Beach State Tennis Winter Invitational. Day two featured the Buffaloes against the No. 39 ranked and host 49ers in singles play going 2-4 on the afternoon.

Manzi Tenorio rallied to win her fourth career match when losing the opening set and her fifth win when playing in three sets matches, as she defeated Long Beach State's Karolina Rozenberg 6-7 (4), 6-2, 6-2.

It was also Manzi Tenorio's fifth win in nine matches played this year, and her second straight triumph in as many days at the LBS Invitational.

Steur evened her invitational record at 1-1 with a straight set winner defeating 49er Klaudia Malenovska, 6-2, 7-5. It was Steur's fifth win this season in eight matches played.

In doubles, CU played Nevada and saw Manzi Tenorio and freshman Dhany Quevedo team-up to edge Sophie Stevens and Sheila Smiley, 8-5. The Buffaloes went 1-3 against the Wolfpack on the doubles court.

"Overall this team as the opportunity to grow and come together," said CU head coach Nicole Kenneally. "We're in a position to clean up a couple of things and this young team will continue to develop."

Day three of the Invitational wraps up on Sunday with CU taking on New Mexico in doubles and in singles facing off against Nevada.
