Tennis Hosting Meet & Greet This Sunday

BOULDER – The University of Colorado women’s tennis team will begin the 2014 tennis season with a Meet & Greet this Sunday, Jan. 12 at the Rocky Mountain Tennis Center (Millennium Harvest House) from 12-3 p.m.

The event is free and open to all ages.

Tennis fans will have the opportunity to meet the 2014 team with a number of activities.

The Meet & Greet is an event for the entire family, in addition an opportunity to interact with the student-athletes and learn more about them through a scavenger hunt of questions. Prizes will be awarded to those who finish with the scavenger hunt the quickest.

Fan can also sign up to play doubles. The first 12 doubles teams to sign up will have an opportunity to play and be coached by the CU players. To sign up, e-mail head coach Nicole Kenneally at Nicole.Kenneally@Colorado.edu

The schedule begins with getting to know the tennis student-athletes from 12-12:45 p.m., then from 12:45-1:55 p.m., CU players will play their doubles exhibition.

From 1:55 to 3 p.m., local players will be coached by the CU athletes.

Other activities will include testing ones serve on the speed gun and seeing how hard you can hit it!

“We had a solid fall season of performances on the tennis court and we are looking forward to kick off the spring season against Northern Colorado on January 24,” Kenneally said. “We look forward to our fans, supporters and fellow tennis players coming out and meeting the 2014 team.”

The CU tennis team begins the spring season Friday, Jan. 24 against Northern Colorado (Noon) and Saturday against Boise State (11 a.m.). Both matches will be played at the Rocky Mountain Tennis Center (Millennium Harvest House).
