The "emcee" at the games needs to go

Timeout rankings:

Tumbling dude>>Tubas>>Players answering questions>>Cheerleaders/Dance Team>>Emcee

On that note, the players are delusional if they think Rodney is a better 3 point shooter than Tad, as most have answered. I played against Rodney, he was a very good player, but by far the weakest part of his game was his outside shooting. I'd always play 4 or 5 feet off him defensively because he was a hell of a lot faster than I was.

Whoever plans the game entertainment at Illinois, took an entirely different approach and had the fans going for the entire game. They use the video boards, not an announcer telling them what to do. They also have more students at their games. I know a close game keeps fans involved, but Illinois has it figured out. Their 1500 people sounded and acted much louder than 1500 people in the keg. Cheerleaders were leading cheers during action. I think at CU this would have to be done at the end of the court where the players enter. Illinois also uses the huge flags. We fans bought CU a flag for the women years ago and are told they don't know where it is. They lead the team in with it and then run up to the main concourse, then around the concourse. Also did a cheer doing this during a timeout.

Our cheerleaders suck big time and could learn from other schools.

Illinois doesn't even have that great of a record and the crowd was loud!

Also when the shirts or whatever are thrown in to the stands, throw them to both sides of the arena. They only throw them to one side now. I don't mind that they throw to little kids, but spread it around the arena.

Illinois has a big student body, is a long time basketball school, is 9-0, and ranked #13 in the country.

Outside of the band the entire in-game experience needs some work. The C-O-L-O-R-A-D-O cheer is terrible. I know this isn't a fair comparison, but the Nuggets have the in-game experience down. The "t's for 3's", Rocky and the cheerleaders choreographed dance routines are all pretty good and bring entertainment to those that may not be huge basketball fans. There are so many TV and coach timeouts this wouldn't be hard to improve with a little work.
I was at the Nuggets game Monday night and it was the most sterile sporting event, granted it was Toronto, I have ever attended. The "manufactured" entertainment only made it worse.

Thanks for clarifying.

Yes, I was there for the women's game and attendance was 1500. It sounded like 5 or 6000 people were in that building. It was deafening. The player pass seats sucked. The ushers told us we could sit in GA instead of where we were supposed to sit since it was a women's game, but that is not allowed at a men's game.

Illinois has a new coach. They are not ranked. They are feisty. I'm guessing they haven't been winning, yet they get their fans involved this year--and on a Saturday afternoon.
