The Problem is not Coach Hawkins

bohn is in a tight spot. yeah, he did it to himself to a large extent, but it isn't going to be easy.
hawkins and the whole staff will be fired thanksgiving weekend. cabral and possibly hagan (and that is no sure thing) will be retained by whomever the new hc is. a new coach will be announced by december 20.

there is no other path out, imho. bohn will do this, even tho he doesn't want to, because he will want to save himself.

NMBuff for CU S&C Coach!

If Bohn can raise the funds to get rid of Hawk all the better, he can stay. If not, he needs to be gone for that contract extension he gave Hawk.
When Bohn gave him that extension, the majority of people on this site agreed with the decision saying it would give the program stability.

Yup, but the thing is that it's not our job to determine when to give coaches a contract extension. If I made a 3M dollar mistake at my job I'd be on the corner faster than you can say something about a Machu Picchu or little things or other bs.

He could have made the buyout something that was manageable. Hawk and his agent set up a killer deal. Bohn miscalculated.

every program that has any sense tries to keep its hc with a 5 year working contract. anything less and it scares recruits. they were over-generous in terms with the juicebox, clearly. and now we are all going to pay for it. he's going to walk out with 3mm or more of our money. maybe he can play golf with gb and they can compare which one stuck it up our keesters harder.

shame on all of us. shame on bohn. but, the consequence of keeping these ass-clown amateurs is much worse than letting them dance to the bank.
