We've been outscored in the third quarter in 6 straight games. It is just killing us that we can't seem to come out in the second half and kick the other team in the teeth. I'm not sure what to blame it on. Is it bad half time adjustments or that our opponents are, generally, more talented than us and the come out at half time refreshed? Frustrating.

Also, we've been gutted in the first quarter in 3 straight games. We have been playing from behind, seemingly, in every game. I attribute this, to a great extent, that we kind of rely on wearing teams down. When the other teams have been fresh, in the first and third quarters, they've been able to move the ball on us and stop us.

I think it's just the start of halves for us. We've been outscored in 5 of our last 7 games in the first quarter as well.

Three games where we have been outscored by double digits to start the game. 3rd quarters have been bad to, but if we got off to a better start they'd be easier to wheather.

Yeah, I edited and added in similar thoughts about the first quarter.

We should be proud of being such a great 2nd quarter team. We can go head to head with anyone during quarter number two!

I was wondering why we are always outscored against Pac 12 teams in the 1st quarter so much yet in all but one game we've fought back to make it a close game, with three of them being extremely close. Are other coaches good enough to scheme around the lack of talent we have but out coaches are better at adjusting in-game? Sunshine pumper viewpoint but something I have been wondering.

I'm kind of thinking our pace of play on offense is wearing teams down as the halves/game goes on. It was hotter than hell today and ucla was wearing down. You'd also have to look at field position and turnovers.

I would think the same logic applies

I may be alone in this, but to me the offense in the 3rd quarter was playing like they were up two scores, not losing by double digits.
