    Hi All,
I wanted to get the forums opinion on the validity of the star rating for recruits.

Does having a star rating make you a better player then a recruit who has no star rating?

If it makes you a better player why? To me the rating system is flawed because I could take a recruite around the country get him in combine/camps and get a 2-3 star rating. If parents don't have the funding to get to these events a kid doesn't get rated. I've seen different players who are 4 star and wonder who the heck was rating these kids.

Now I'm not a coach or ex-professional NFL player, and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night but I feel I do know a quality HS football player when I see them.

Thanks for allowing me to participate!!

I don't know about stars, but offer lists are the most important thing when it comes to recruiting!

But if a kid gets an offer from a school like Texas then he automatically becomes a 4/5 star recruit?

If a player has no stars then he hasn't been evaluated by the scouting service, but they've made a profile. It is not intended as an evaluation of the player. If they had a chance to scout him at a camp or they had film to review, he could be anything from a 1* to a 5*.

In these cases, there often aren't verified measurables either since it's unlikely the player attended a camp. There may not be much film, if any. So basically it comes down to offer list and whether the player performed well enough to get named to All-Conference or All-State teams... and whether you trust your coaches when they make an offer. But the star ratings are irrelevant because the player is outside of them.

I don't know about stars but queso is the most important thing when it comes to a burrito.

:wtf: Oh how wrong you are my friend. It's CLEARLY the green chile that makes the difference on a burrito.

While I like the guac, too much, and it's a burrito destroyer.

Condiments do not make the burrito.

The secret is to incorporate the condiments inside the burrito.

Good green chile btw is essential to a healthy lifestyle

Where does your favorite green chile reside?

I was fantasizing about a mission style 'rito from Pete's with queso at the time. There are some valid points here, except the guac. Definitely a burrito bomb.

Totally agree - it's all about the meat in my book. Absolutely must be shredded beef, although I did find an acceptable substitute with carne guisada when stuck in Tex-Mex centric Texas. Shredded beef (picadillo iin WA) is the way to go.

Right now, at my parents house up here in Boise - dad has perfected a great green chile recipe. But regionally New Mexico/Colorado has the best green chile. Believe it or not, the best green chile I've had at a restaurant was at Lefty's Colorado Grille at DIA, Concourse B specifically - United terminal.

For Texas - we found great green chile at Chuy's too. Best stuff outside of CO/NM I've ever had.

Carne Asada for me. Your locations are not helping my lunch planning!

Oops, didn't know today's lunch was part of the equation. :sorry:

Unfortunately, I've been out of Denver/Boulder for so long, I've forgotten all the good green chile places or they've closed down. Need to get back there for keeps!

    4 years, 354 days...but who's counting?

Surprised we haven't been voted to Misfit Island yet with the burrito talk.

Have not had the pleasure of meeting TBD

Whats all this talk about condoms and burritos

Why would you want to put a condom on a burrito? While burritos can make you fat they can't knock you up unless you were hit in the head by one I guess...

If you worry about the little **** like that, you'll die a horrible death from the taunts... I've been here a couple of years and still forget to search here for profiles sometimes. Even if they don't exist anywhere else on the planet, chances are pretty good Nik has it covered.
