Lot of Colorado prospects were also on-campus.

Seems like Lemming has a pretty big following.

Lemming has been doing this for a long time. It used to be if Lemming gave you a stamp of approval, then you were legit. He was the first to claim Randy Moss as a can't miss guy before anyone knew who he was.

The Colorado class of 2017 is absolutely LOADED. It's paramount that we get to a bowl this year.

Are all 7 of those guys legit P5 athletes? I know of Kemp and Dorman, the rest are new names to me.

Moretti is legit P5 and will probably be #1 CO recruit in '17. He already has Cal, Miami and Michigan offers to go along with CU. Torres seems to be borderline.

Yep. They also have a '17 RB, Marcus McElroy, that CU offered earlier. He's a stud who'll eventually have plenty P5 offers.

The state has 4 legitimate p5 Qbs. All with different abilities.

It's great that Lemming used Folsom for the venue. Getting extra opportunities to make an impression is never a bad thing.

This is how Indiana basketball was able to land Cody Zeller for its rebuild. Relationships were built with the coaches, school and team that made it the natural choice for him over other offers from major programs that were having more recent success.

I don't want to get my hopes up, but it really seems like the coaching staff is starting to fully leverage their assets. From seemingly small things like allowing Lemming to use Folsom for a day, to the social media maps of recruiting. It all adds up. It all makes an impact on this generation of recruits. It just feels like they are really starting to get aggressive with this thing, like the next step of the plan is here. Maybe thats just me. This offseason just feels different.

Was thinking the same thing. Another thing I noticed is that the quality of recruits getting offered (based on star system) seems to have increased. Could be because we have limited scolly's in 2016 so current offers are to 4/5 star guys mostly, but the trend going into 2017 seems to up as well.

Isn't MacIntyre afraid of offering and recruiting highly ranked prospects?

No, no, no.... He's not afraid, he just doesn't think he needs good recruits to win with his superb X's and O's skillzzz. Or at least that's the rumor...

Because I'm sure they're offering them with no intention of recruiting them

Been the case the last two classes, whether you want to admit or not, which is your choice.

Maybe the "I told you so's" should wait until we land a couple of these kids, no?

My impression is that this staff has had a policy of going after the low hanging fruit. Great evaluations. They offer a lot of fantastic talent. But then if the prospect isn't particularly receptive to their message they move on quickly rather than devote energy and resources to trying to pull a major recruiting upset.

Some of us are holding out on optimism until we see something that warrants it, while others are projecting it before actually seeing any signs of improvement.

    To each their own ...

Could it be that we either offer and/or test the waters and if they indicate no interest, we don't waste our time?

I would tend to agree. Throwing out offers and not maintaining a relationship or contact just doesn't sound accurate. They know whether or not they have a legitimate shot when they talk to a kid, and if they don't, why waste precious time and resources on continuing a dialogue?

HCMM and staff came to a couple games of our last year to scout a few players and stayed in contact with both of them pretty consistently throughout the season. Neither of our players were going to be more than walk ons, if anything at CU (both ended up at G5 D1 programs on scholarship), they were actively trying to maintain relationships with them. Seeing that, leads me to believe they do all they can to recruit the high caliber recruits that they spend time with and actually offer, and don't just move on.

I think what people are more concerned with is the lack of closing with the blue chips they do decide to go after like Tony Brown and JayJay Wilson. Even if they would have closed just one of them I think people would look at the class a little different. JMO though.

What I'm talking about is the notion that some have put out there that this staff doesn't put emphasis on recruiting and that they throw out offers with very little recruiting that accompany the offers.

Closing a recruit is certainly a concern. But that is a separate argument, that's been had over and over on these boards, as to why they haven't been able to close top recruits.

Yeah I am with you that they just did not have a lot of traction with a lot of the highly ranked recruits and moved on. I am more concerned with the ones they had traction with and were not able to bring in.
