That comment could be taken soooooo many different ways.
I don't think KU football has ever been as good as it was when Mangino was the coach there. I don't think he's getting too much credit. Winning football games in Lawrence is a very tough job, and he won a lot. Mason never sniffed an Orange Bowl. I don't think you can just take that year out of the equation.
