That must be a wicked concussion to announce that he's out 2 games on Monday.

Pre-existing condition discovered during testing for concussion that makes playing football possibly deadly? ya, yikes.

Very sad. I hate seeing good players with promising careers cut short due to any type of injury.

Total bummer for Travis and UT but great news for CU. Now focus on USC and get that part done.

This is horrible. I didn't realize it wasn't just a precautionary thing to hold him out the rest of the year.

He was fun to watch and had such a bright future. Hopefully he can get medically cleared for next season without increased risk to his health.

    Karma to Wilson.

I was going to make a crack about him until I saw that it might be career-ending. That really sucks for him.

Sad for any player. Sad for Utes, a big loss for them.

I saw on an SLC paper - yeah, I'm too lazy to go back and find a link - that Wilson would be the Utes' second straight regular starter to have his career cut short by medical issues.

Jordan Wynn stopped playing football due to multiple shoulder injuries in 2012.

I feel badly for him. I do not understand the "concussion" vs the "pre-existing condition" statements. What is the pre-existing condition and how does it relate to a concussion?

Sounds like he had an undiagnosed neurological condition that wasn't discovered until he was undergoing tests because of his concussion.

As to what the 'condition' is, I don't think that's been disclosed.

It's possible that this concussion was a blessing in disguise.

A competitor losing his football career is never great news for CU.

Sucks for him, hopefully he'll make it back. Could be worse, he could have to read DBT describing his old balls.

Sad news, but better to find out before worse damage was done. Sort of reminds me of what Craig Ochs had happen because of his string of concussions (not an underlying previous condition), but he decided to transfer and play anyway. Best of luck to Wilson.

I feel totally bad for the kid. Sucks to be him. We all have our issues to deal with. Sucks for him. I really feel bad for him and his family. Hopefully he can move on with life now and hopefully have a chance to play some football in the future.

Sounds a little bit like what happened to Cooper Manning. Very sad.

    ^^This^^

It's sad for him that he losing his football career but if this happening means that he avoids some kind of injury that impacts his ability to enjoy the rest of his life then it is a good thing that they found it.

Sometimes you just have to walk away. Hope it works out for him...but it is a very risky decision if he continues to play

Head coach KW is on the hot seat now, so this one worries me. They literally have no chance without Wilson to take the next step. May not with him, but I hope there is no risk with this pre-existing situation, not to mention the multiple concussions he's had.

listened to two interviews with the kid yesterday.

He has signed waivers to the NCAA and the university. As a coach when do you advise the kid you think he is making a mistake? My experience with asimilar situation did not go well. Parents and kid have made their choice and have a doctors signing off on it.
