I'd say Mizzou, like probably most ADs anymore, is in a bunker mentality when it comes to anything having to do with sex. They probably did as little as possible in order to stay within the guidelines of the law and yet do nothing to provide any kind of ammunition for anyone who likes to go sniffing around BCS ADs for media 'bombshells'.

Without condoning any school ignoring much less sanctioning this kind of behavior, you kinda have to feel bad for people who decide to spend their lives in a college athletic department environment, where messes like this are always just one drunken encounter between kids in the teens and early 20s away from exploding onto SportsCenter.

Reading the Tiger chat board is tough. The consensus from their viewpoint is that the young lady had mental issues and the family is less than forthcoming. Hatchet job by ESPN is a central theme.

I see that as blaming the victim. I guess if I ever had to deal with this with any of my children, rational thought may not be central to my response.

I'm glad ESPN is out there turning over rocks. Even if nothing comes from it, it will be a case study on how things can go horribly wrong in the life of a young college student.

Thats to be expected. Sort of the same thing around here when the Lisa Simpson thing was going on.

Haven't followed this very closely, is this thing starting to get legs, just saw a reference to it on the CNN crawl.
