    $2.1 million to Hawkins
    >$6 million to Big XII buy out
    Buyout to Kiesau
    Humongous AC salaries (Bieniemy)
Bad attendance at Home games this past year
MBB practice facility still not paid off

    Ouch

    nope, PA will save us.

but seriously, the school is ponying up quite a bit of cash for the foreseeable future.

And 2011 Pac-12 revenue distributions are not going to be great either.

The increase won't happen until 2012-13 year (after TV contract is renegotiated)

I am willing to bet Embree at least is not a bank breaker. More season ticket sales will help and away ticket sales. I know this is all a small fraction but it's a start. Hopefully that 50 for 50 booster deal comes to fruition.

Ohio State Pay-to-Play game will equal Hawkins Buyout. It's a wash.

Now that we don't play his alma mater (Kansas) every year, there is a good chance of that happening.

What is Kiesau's buy out? Doesn't he have a couple of years remaining? Also, we have to pay the rest of the assistants for a month or two. I think Bohn tries to help them out a bit. Anyway, the move to the Pac will increase donations a lot, I'd bet. And if Mac and Phil are as buddy buddy as people imply, maybe Mac will talk Phil into helping JE and EB get off to a good start,

I'm hoping that the big money boosters on the search committee we're fully behind the Embree hiring and that CU will be rewarded for allowing them to be part of the hirirng process. I think at the very least this strategy should ensure that the coaches salaries are not an obstacle.

I believe Kiesau is being paid $220,000 next year and the assistants will be paid through January. The money for Kiesau should be in the budget for 2011 since he signed a multi-year. I will be interested to to find out how the AD fared in 2010 in regards to whether they operated in the black or not.

If I am not mistaken, Kiesau's contract allows him to be assigned to other duties. At worst he could take the place of someone else in the athletic dept balancing some of his salary.

I also wouldn't be surprised if the coaching change didn't bring in some other donor dollars to cover some of the cost.

Strange thing, win some games, don't embarass yourself on national TV and donations start to roll in.

I wonder how much keeping Dan an extra year cost us in donations, success likes to associate with success. What real reason did the program give in the past couple of years for financially successful alums to open up the checkbook?

Winning =more money. donations go up and you get money from good bowl games. The no bowl game money from the past 5 years really sucks!

Hey now, he just said we had bad attendance which wasn't the case. I was just arguing it wasn't bad. Wasn't arguing the reason it wasn't bad.:smile2:

And only 5 home games next year. That will hit the old pocket book as well.

Don't worry, all of the extra money CU makes playing the Rocky Mtn Showdown at Invesco will more than make up the deficit :smile2:

Keisau's contract only has that cause (we owe 220) if we straight terminate him. If however he gets a job at another school (highly probably) we'd likely only owe the difference. It is all of our including Eric's best interest for him to make a move.
