Guy's we took 7hrs. & made the ride to the RMNP welcome center via Trail Ridge. Jesus what a great drive. 2 rented Chrysler mini-vans with 12 gawking rednecks having a wonderful time. My goodness what beautiful country, my wife filled 3 memory cards. I don't know what was more awe inspiring, today or the 17mile drive along the Pacific in Monterrey. I call it a tie. I'm so envious of you who get to enjoy this 365..... Nuff said.

Gonna lay low till 7:00, looking for recommendations for a party of 8 (40-65 age range). We did Pearl St. last nite, I know it will be rocking tonight but we thought we'd try something else. Any recommendations welcome from Mex to fine dining. Looking for a friendly place to spend about 2-3 hrs, maybe with a view?

Oh well, we've gotta find a grocery store to get some high quality zip-loc bags for the game tomorrow IYKWIM....

Oh by the way... Anybody hiring???LOL..

You don't want to move here. We get 8 to 10 feet of snow and -30 temps. Sucks, really.

you really could not have picked a single better weekend to do that drive...the fall foliage during this 2 week period here is second to none!

Nice story...why start a new thread, though? We've been busy sprucing up the last thread you started.

Any wildlife stories? The elk are supposed to be very accommodating this time of year. While guns are prohibited in the park, people often talk about shooting and mounting the elk as a souvineer.

Getting a job in Colorado is pretty easy. But half your salary is paid in scenery. Covering the mortgage on time and still having enough left over for beer is where things get trickier.

Well, if you're looking for a great view with your meal, see if you can get a reservation at the Flagstaff House. Pricey, and the food isn't worth what you pay, but the view is simply spectacular.

Or you could always go to Casa Bonita. They have cliff divers!!!! Techically, it's Mexican food, too.

What about Half Fast? It's cheap and good. Or The Sink.

Go to Khow Thai for some kickass Thai food and then wander back over to Pearl. That's where all the action will be tonight. I don't know if they could do a table for 8, though.

They'll never want to leave Boulder.

Great idea. I don't know why I never think of that place.

I always forget about the Dining Hall, too. That would be great for a low key evening.

Does not necessarily have an "outside" view, but the view is very interesting inside- The Dark Horse, pretty much a burger/beer joint that will be more than accommodating for a party of 8.

There's always Rio, but many here will object to the suggestion.

Yea, you don't want to stay here too long, you'll never want to leave! I left Colorado when I was little and grew up in Georgia but I always knew I wanted to come back. After I graduated High School that's exactly what I did. Don't intend on leaving either! :D

You may want to check out Nissi's in Lafayette. Bistro with live music, if you want something close to Boulder but a bit away.

Niwot's got a great French restaurant (Colterra).

Staying in Boulder, you've got a ton of choices. A couple Mexican places that are really good and you might be able to get into on a Friday night are Agave (organic, very nice, more expensive - 28th street), Casa Alvarez (good food, less expensive, more casual, better bar - 30th street) and Cantina Laredo (very good food, more expensive, may be more crowded - 29th street mall).

Only if they have issues with spilling drinks on others. If that be the case, they should hook up with FC, who can instruct them in the proper methods of throwing drinks at other people.

Actually, if I were them, I'd do Chataqua. I love that spot. One of my all time favorite places in Boulder.

It would be funny to get them wrecked on Rio margs and render them unable to party tomorrow.

Go full-on Boulder wacko. America isn't good enough for Boulder and the dining scene reflects that.

    Go Ethiopian:
    http://www.raskassas.com/home.html

    Or go Tajikistani:
    http://www.boulderteahouse.com/

    Or go Nepal
    http://www.gurkhasrestaurant.com/
    http://namaste2u.com/

You can't get this kind of dining experience in Dallas or Atlanta. Guaranteed.

Is the Red Lion Inn opened up after the floods? That's an incredible place, too.

Why are you laughing. Those things aren't really that potent.

Go for it Dawgs. Five or six Margs at Rios to get the weekend started right. Cheers.

Particularly when coming from sea level. I really don't see the problem here.
