CU would have fallen flat against NU this year?

No bowl game. This recruiting bonanza might never have happened.

The ISU loss is a lot easier to take now, but at the time, Hawkins was stupid for going for it on 4th. The team was demoralized, and folks were wondering what to make of a disappointing second half of the season.

With that win on Cally's final game, CU's fortunes have changed. :wow:

What if my aunt had balls? She'd be my uncle. Yeah, that was a turning point. But the vaguries of history can turn on a dime.

I was thinking...Do you know who hasn't been given much press in this recruiting bonanza?

Misti Hawkins.

I had the privilege to meet her at the Baylor and Tech games. She is friendly, outgoing, and supportive of the program. I have no doubt that she ranks high on the list of cool team moms.

She is not to be underestimated when it comes to the 'family' atmosphere on the team.

Cheers to Misty for working at two hospitals to make ends meet while Coach learned his craft...

I chalk up the second half of the ISU game to just inexperience in the Big 12. That kind of play may have worked in the WAC but to paraphrase, it's Division 1 football, it's the Big 12, it ain't intramurals.... So with that I said I more then forgive him for that mistake, he took the blame and manned up over it, rebounded with a solid game plan against Nebraska and is poised to have one of the surprise recruiting classes of the year. Screw the ISU game, Hawk always moves forward and so do I..............

The fact that the season's over and Christmas is almost here has me counting blessings. I'm not quite ready to move on yet. There were some great moments to celebrate. Beating both OU and NU in the same year is rare...Dizon's incredible season...The new tradition of the team walking accross campus before the game...Good times. Sometimes the good guys DO win!
