Bad news for Sacky. As part of a compromise between the Bay Area schools and the Pac-12, the Buffs and Utes will not play the Bay Area schools as often as they would with any other team.

The Bay Area schools were the least appealing to me when it came to playing schools from a geographical region such as the Arizona schools, SoCal schools, Oregon schools, and Washington schools.

Man, how do I fix the polls? I forgot to input the Washington schools in this case.

    Thank you so much!

After thinking about this five to ten minutes after I posted the thread/poll, I love what CU is getting into. The Buffs are ticketed for the South and would play the Northwest schools more often since the Bay Area schools will not play CU & Utah as often so the Bay Area schools can continue to play the SoCal schools annually. This is just perfect from my perspective and I felt kind of meh with the Bay Area schools even before this season started and I openly supported the Buffs going to the Northwest but this is a great deal for the Buffs.

bay area schools are historically meh. don't think cal has teh support to be decent more often than not, and it will be interesting to see if stanford lasts pasts harbaugh. like the schools we are in with. the AZ schools have impressed me with their fan support, and socal is socal.

The AZ schools are the least appealing to me by far. I hope we make them our bitches quick!

This is AWESOME from my perspective - the best of both worlds. We're in the same division as $C and fUCLA so we get annual SoCal exposure, then we'll be playing the PacNorWest schools more often out of division so I'll get to hit the road games when they travel my way next year! SWEET!

We should be able to. However, we are far away from that due to our inept administration.

I think this is a best case scenario for CU. I am excited.

Collectively, the AZ schools are the MOST appealing to me. I think we are right on par with them.

Next poll: how much would CU lose by if they (hypothetically) played in Eugene this season? Might happen next year.

Disappointed. I really wanted to be in NorCal, specifically Palo Alto, about once every 2-3 years. This bites.

I'm fine with playing So Cal. Worked in the Bay Area too much and frankly not a fan of the area so I would rather not have to take road trips there. No offense to folks who happen to like the place.

Not sure I understand what the deal cut with SoCal & NorCal means.

CU would get to the bay area once every 4 years? Or is it twice every 6 years?

If they do this, then they have to set up some kind of system where the SoCal schools don't play as many games against (say) the Oregon Schools, and the AZ schools don't play as many games against the (say) Washington Schools. I wonder if the grouping that is going to be stiffed out of playing in SoCal is agreeable to this arrangement.

The other thing is, doesn't the NCAA require you to play every team in your division every year in order to qualify for the CCG?

Crap. I want them to come to the bay area once each year. Didn't they listen to me? I can't believe it, even after I sprung for those cal pre-game bash and tickets, which was sooo worth it.

Looks like the vote was 7-5, according to Pat Haden:

What I'm wondering about is which school broke formation? The 4 Cal schools voted in the minority (because they want to play together); the 4 PacNW schools voted for it (had to have or they would have never gotten to 7), and Colorado/Utah voted for it (obvious), so it appears one of the two AZ schools voted for it... 7-5

    Speculation?
