TEMPE, Ariz. -- The 13th-ranked Arizona State women's golf team returns to Tempe to compete in its only home event of the season as it hosts the 2013 PING/ASU Invitational at the ASU Karsten Golf Course, Apr. 12-14, in Tempe, Ariz.
Heading into the peak of the spring season the Sun Devils have kicked it into gear, recording three top-five finishes in row. Most recently, ASU shot a season-low team total of 2-under through 54 holes at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic in Hawai'i.
Sophomore Noemi Jimenez, ranked sixth individually, is having a stand out spring for the Sun Devils. Jimenez, who won back-to-back tournaments at the Cal Classic and Darius Rucker Invitational, followed up the victories with a tie for third in Hawai'i for three-straight top-3 finishes.
In the history of the PING/ASU Invitational, the Sun Devils have taken home the team title a total of 19 times, most recently in 2007 when the team set a new tournament-low record. Sun Devil golfer and current LPGA player Anna Nordqvist also set the individual-low record in 2007 shooting 10-under over three rounds.
