The biggest problem I am having with what you are saying is that you are saying it in 100% absolutes. While what you state may be the case in a majority of situations, not every single family and recruit thinks that way.

The closest school I applied to coming out of HS was 6 hours away by car and the only ones I seriously considered were 16+ hours away by car.

Part of CU recruiting Texas, California, and the Southeast is to find the ones that are genuinely open to leaving the immediate area. There are plenty of them out there.

Of course it's not absolutes! You can find kids in TX who will come here. It's just the challenge that we face. A lot of kids who do in fact want to leave the state, are going to have a difficult time playing that far from Mom. This isn't something I just thought up guys. This has been the story for ever.

As I read this thread and the argument about kids driving versus mom driving I read your posts with increasingly drunken voices in my head. You had to be drunk or incredibly bored to argue about that for so long and I didn't want to read slow enough for bored voice
