Where do you see this recruiting class finishing up in the rankings?

A few thoughts--

-Wood is a HUGE recruit for us but wont count in the rankings
-Some how we still seem to be in on some big names
-We are at risk of momentum from new staffs at ASU, Zona, Utah with a run at a P12 division Title, etc etc
-The staff seems to be known for great past recruiting, don't count these guys out!

I am holding out hope for a top 40 class......or at least a class in the 40's (Guess that means top 50 class).

You guys???

I may be in the minority, but I expect a top 25 class. Didn't we get Embree and EB because they were such good recruiters, we figured their lack of experience in coaching would be offset by the boost in recruiting.

Dog may be the best pure troll I've ever seen. can't believe he migrated here from Buffscoop. I'm very interested to see how the AB crowd handles him.

Why do say trolling?
You have a history Mr. Dog. Lots of the people around here don't know you, but I do. You've gotten better since HaLkins was canned, but everything you say usually is a way for you to start some ****. Maybe you've turned over a new leaf, but your overly cheery tone in the OP suggests a trap.

"migrated" might have been more like "shown the door"

I'm with you. Maybe top 25 is a little aggressive, but I expect to be impressed by this class.

Darth,

Truth to what you say........I HATED Hawk from day one and let it be known....maybe a bit too often. I was ok with JE/EB combo, getting a bit worried now, but for sure think they get more time to see if they have what it takes. Worried about the blowouts. Hope their recruiting creds make me feel better. LOVE EB, no matter what.

BTW, AZ does a good job on his site. He did tell me not to post anymore....I made some people over there mad sometimes. I hope not to do that here!

Looks like your off to a good start,

It's a reasonable question, I think. Although we've batted around the issue for a while now in lots of separate threads. Based on the year we've just had, I'd be thrilled with a class ranked somewhere in the 40's. We're certainly not one of the top 40 teams in the country, so having a class ranked in the 40's would show improvement.

I think we're so far down now, that we have to start by getting classes in the 40's, and move our way up into classes in the 10's. That's going to take some time, but I don't see any other way to accomplish it.

I don't know what to expect.

Given the numbers and the quality at positions of need within our recruiting region this year when we have room for a jumbo class, the table was set.

Top 25 would be a very successful class.
Top 35 would be a solid class.
Worse than that is a disappointment.

We will clearly be ranked the #1 team in the country in February. We will get at least 2 kids in the top 5 at their positions from each main position. The class will scare all other teams and they wont want to face our talent. We might even get some voluntary forfeits from some of our conference foes. Who is DeAnthony "Black Mamba" Thomas? He is nobody compared to the stud athlete that will be commiting soon.

USC, Oregon, and Stanford are all currently in Rivals' top 25.
You must be looking at a different ranking. The highest rated PAC 12 team is Oregon at 26; ASU 28; Stanford 29; USC 34. The one that gets me is UCLA at 45th. How does Slick Rick, being on one of the hottest seats in the nation manage to be leading the Buffs. They better not be when this is said and done!

Yo, dude, what ranking are you looking at? Might be helpful to the discussion.

Uh, yeah... he is looking at Rivals and you are looking at Scout.

Think it ends up in the upper 40s unless we're able to land some 4* CB's, RB, OL that are leaning elsewhere right now. It's disappointing, but a 2-11 season makes it hard to recruit, no matter who you are. On the bright side, it is slowly improving our talent/depth issues and compared to the last few years it'll be a solid class.

I see a lot of OC Oliver types in this class. Guys who are solid contributors, but if all goes as it should, will likely be back-ups in a few years.

For historical perspective, OC Oliver at one time held the CU Freshman rushing record. He got that record in 1986 (I think). The next year, JJ Flannigan and Eric Bienemy were playing. OC was a very good player, and helped set the table for an incredible run of success. In a lot of ways, he worked himself out of the starting lineup.
