...is putting together quite the coaching staff.

Klemm, Broussard, D.Martin....

If they can actually coach their players they may make a quick turnaround. They suddenly have the best recruiters in the Pac, if not the country...

i have no issue with schools which sit on recruiting goldmines anyway loading up on dynamite recruiters.

UCLA traditionally has done less with more than any school in the country. Like USC they will always have the recruits. Should they actually get a great coaching staff they will instantly be a Pac contender and more...

Hear this every time they fire their HC.

Well it's true.

According to Scout, 2009 recruiting class #5 overall. 2010 #8 overall. Look where they're at now...

They have always had talent, they are in the middle of one of the most fertile recruiting hot beds in the country in LA. They consistently recruit as well as Texas and OU.

They just don't win with their talent. Never have, and hopefully never will. It's a shame Rick was fired...

:wow:. Here's hoping Mora is as big a ****head as I think he is.

****! You can say ****head on the board?! Awesome.

Please don't abuse it. I mess up myself with that since the filter doesn't catch it. We had to adjust the filters in order to build a profile on Aziz ****tu.

UCLA is a sleeping giant for sure. That's why I was hoping they'd keep Slick Rick around for at least another year. I don't think Mora is a great hire by any means, but then again, I didn't expect Pete Carrol to do much at USC when he was hired.

If I had to guess right now, I'd say Rich Rod is the best new hire in the Pac-12 south, but I'm not sure whether he'll be able to get it done defensively. UofA is already struggling defensively so it might take some time before they're balanced. On offense though, he could make them downright scary. Mora and Graham (at ASU) seem to have more talent to work with off the bat, but I think Rick Rod is a better coach. The Michigan folks never really gave him a chance.

Good coaching leads to winning which leads to solid recruiting.
Recruiting, without the coaching, leads to losing and then to poor recrduiting. See Rick Neuheisel as exhibit A.

UCLA has enough talent that a good staff will win right away, which will open the floodgates for recruits.

You didn't watch enough UM football while he was there. He'll get a good little qb and some nice little rbs and wrs, but the rest of the team will suck and suck hard. UM's defenses were laughably bad, and that is with a lot more talent then he will be able to lure to a basketball school.

Ucla is a giant that has been asleep for 30 years. We hear this every time there's a coaching change there.

Both right -- they never gave him a chance, but he affirmatively ignored the defense and hired two joke DCs. If he ever learns his lesson and finds himself a decent DC that is allowed to coach how they want, I think his teams could be pretty good.

UCLA is like Texas, always alot of talent, always underachieve. At least Texas won 1 title I guess.

For the record, I do not think Aziz ****tu is a ****head. ;)

UCLA ain't ****. Texas may be a bunch of jackasses but they have something going for them... they actually feed their players.

the powers that be at ****la just hired a runt head coach after being truned down by everyone else in the western world.

Door is wide open in the Pac 12 south. USC has talent, but the sanctions have to catch up. Utah sucks. Asu Sucks big time. UCLA is hosed. AZ may have a good coach with tons of defections. Compete with $C and its CCG time.....
