Henderson and O'Neill named to the Freshman All-American 2nd Team

Not surprised on Henderson, he was solid all year. O'Neill a little but nonetheless a nice honor for both. Hope for good things from both going forward.

Cool honor for them, but O'Neill needs to get a lot better.

Agreed, luckily for us he now has game experience and a lot to build on for next year.

Congrats to Greg as well, as soon as he learns to turn his head he could be special.

Not much love for our frosh place kicker. First team = Andre Heidari, USC; Second Team = Mike Hunnicutt, Oklahoma.

Don't know much about the kicker from u$c, but a couple of times this year, the locals wanted to run Hunnicutt out of town.

Didn't he keep kicking the ball out of bounds? Perhaps that explains the lack-of-love.

Well, missing two XPs and under 70% on FGs is not very good, especially when the kid was not even kicking off through all our struggles there.

Congrats to both Buffs! Love seeing Buffaloes on these lists...as should our potential recruits.

Yep Oneill need to get better. But what happened to Will Oliver.

Oneill does need to get better from a consistency standpoint. He has a good enough leg to make a living at the next level if he can get the occassional terrible punt out of his game. On the other hand you have to give him credit. This is a kid who hasn't been punting that long, he wasn't recruited as a punter and prior to this year hasn't really had much coaching at it so the sky is the limit with him. I know that a lot of people got frustrated when he shanked some of his rugby punts but again if he can gain some consistency with those his ability to put a ball away from a returner could be a real asset. Also his ability to catch, move, look for the opening on a fake and if it isn't there still get off a quality punt adds a whole different dimension to what return teams have to prepare for.

Oliver seemed to let the situation get to him a bit as the season went on. Teams also got a chance to watch footage of him kicking and figured out that his trajectory is often to low. This is what led to him getting some kicks blocked after which he seemed to start to rush things impacting his accuracy. Hopefully he will be able to make some adjustments in the off-season and get the ball higher while getting his footwork back to where he can be consistent.
