2012 Schedule - Thursday night game

Full schedule will be released by Pac 12 tomorrow.

CU will host a Thursday night conference game on 10/11/12.
 
Not a fan of Thursday games. At all. But, I do like night games.
 
It can only be UCLA, UW, ASU, or Stanford (assuming they keep the jUjU game on T+1). My bet is UCLA.
 
We played at Washingtong and at Stanford at around that same time last year. I don't know if that makes any difference in next years' scheduling.

Looks like I'll have to take two days off. No way am I going to work the day after a night football game.
 
If the Pac 12 follows the same scheduling philosophy as it this past year, CU will play @ USC or Ore. the Saturday before, leaving us with 4 days to prepare, and our opponent will have their bye week the Saturday before.

Can't wait.

That's horse****. Hopefully they'll be more leeway this year since we will actually have a bye week to schedule in there. For example, Arizona played someone in P12 play earlier in the season than all the other P12 teams.

I wouldn´t bet on it, I heard they were looking to move the Cal/Stanford game to October as they want to spread out the rivalry games over the season.

I think they still will schedule the game after tgiving. They are trying to rebuild this rivalry, only way to do that is to have the games be the last ones people remember, and possibly have post season implications.

I heard that too. But, as I remember it, they were going to have to move some rivalry games to different points in the season and for some reason I thought it wasn't going into effect until after next season.

It´s probably true and I agree it makes sense to "build" the "rivalry" (sounds stupid) first, but what I was trying to say: It´s in no way set in stone that the Pac rivalry games will be on the traditional post Turkey Day weekend.
 
I guess this is something we're just going to have to get used to and deal with. The weekday evening games on campus, while cool, are also a total logistical pain in the ass. Unfortunately the TV contract calls for them, and the money talks. I fully understand the visibility that this gives us. I am also fully aware that I've prematurely become a grumpy old bastard who doesn't like anything that doesn't fit into my desired schedule.

The camera article says the start time will be 7 which is better than it's been in the past.

:hmmm:The USC game this year was a 7pm start time, and that was a horrible experience trying to get everybody into the stadium by kickoff. This should be exactly the same (including the whole "nobody gets to park on campus" nonsense) that we dealt with last year followed by the school and the media lamenting what awful fans we all are because we can't get into the stadium on time.
I don't remember exactly what time the WVU game kicked off a couple of years back, but I remember it being a bit earlier...perhaps that one was a 6pm kickoff?

Oh ok. I just hate it when games start at 5pm out here. That sucks ass.

Easy fix, open Franklin and one other dedicated tailgate lot around noon or so and keep them free of campus traffic. Will keep the early tailgaters out of the way of students - they get a chance to leave before the majority of fans show up in the two hours before kickoff.

I don't think the students are the issue. The employees and people doing campus business are the ones that this effects the most.
