Dallas Skyline WR Thomas Johnson continues to rake in the offers with three more added. Purdue, Kansas, and Colorado

I can't begin to describe how huge it would be for CU if we could pull an elite player out of Dallas Skyline. Every kid, coach and parent in the DFW metroplex would take note.

Speaking of Skyline, here's some stuff from a December article:

Johnson is one of several 2012 prospects at Skyline. Linebacker Peter Jinkens and wide receiver Tray Raybon have been verbally offered by Texas A&M. Defensive back Shelton Session, linebackers Nigel Robertson, Dominic Spencer and David Greene, along with offensive lineman Marlon Brown have all received attention from FBS schools so far.

“I know when my number is called I've got to get the first down and I've got to execute,” Johnson said. “No matter what's going on, when my team needs me to get yards in those situations I have to be there and be the guy that steps up and makes a play.”

These are the types of programs where Bobby Kennedy is really helping us. Denton Guyer, Denton Ryan, Dallas Skyline, DeSoto, Euless Trinity, and others all regularly churn out really good players.

Johnson is attending several junior days in the region (OU, Texas, A&M, TCU), but not sure he will commit early.

Isn´t Southlake Carroll the big kahuna in the metroplex?

He's been committed to UT since February, but speculation began today that Skyline alum and current UT WR Mike Davis is saying that he's focused on CU as his transfer destination.

As fantastic as that news is, the speculation that he is talking to Johnson about coming with him is off the hook.

Cross your fingers and maybe even sacrifice a chicken. The Buffs may be loading up on some playmakers for Wood and Dillon.

Wow....huge stretch....but I will drink the koolaid. Or any other liquid if this happens.

Yes and no. SLC has had great success and continues to win at the highest level. However ( and i live IN Southlake), SLC is more about getting the absolute best out of the kids and just flat out finding ways to win. SLC really doesn't have tons of great players, ( how do i say this in a PC fashion??... Southlake is a fairly affluent and well educated suburb) but do have a couple of D1 prospects every year. Its a good pipeline to develop because there will be solid players that will be drawn to Boulder but its not a school that will turn out 4-5 elilte prospects every year like Skyline or Denton sometimes do.

Translation...Southlake is loaded with rich white kids, and over the top parents hoping their kids make it to the big league.

Ummm, pretty accurate. A lot of ex professional athletes live here and their kids play. MLB pitcher Ken Hill (son Kenny who is the stud QB), Ray Crockett (Ray Crockett who was a Bronco), Nate Newton ( Tre Newton), etc....

Yes...and RedJ, dumb ass Ryan, etc.

Decommitted from Texas, looking at Oregon, TCU, and Cal. Hopefully he ends up at TCU.

FYI I didn't bump this in our favor so don't get the indication we have a shot, but since 2 of his top teams are Pac-12 teams it's worth watching with a player of his caliber.

Chip Kelly closes on Blue Chips the way we thought Embree would.

Some really interesting expectations expressed by some here.

JE has no track record as a head coach at a program that has been irrelevant for 10 years. So far about as good as I had hoped frankly (knowing we will finish strong) also JE and EB were away for several years from the recruiting world.

It's not that I don't have faith in Coach Embree as a recruiter. But if you look at the W/L records for Oregon and Colorado, it's not exactly a level playing field.
