ESPN's way too early 2012 Top 25

Why does everyone insist that ND be ranked to begin the year? **** those underperforming mutha****ers.

Other than LSU being EXTREMELY overrated, I'd say the top ten looks pretty good. Bama is probably a bit high too.

I don't know how you can't have Bama in the top 3 EVERY year as long as Saban is there.

Florida state should not be in the top 10

Nebraska should be more in the 20-25 range

I don't think OU and KSU are overrated but NU seems a tad overrated...same for TCU...their fans have no idea what they are in for this coming fall.

FSU and Nebraska shouldn't be ranked that highly, nor should K-State (they seriously overachieved). Bama probably falls back a little more than that as well.

NCSU is ranked just so ESPN can try and add whatever tiny bit of hype they can to what promises to be a ****** Chick-Fil-A Kickoff in Atlanta.

The same usual suspects ranked in the same spots to start the year - this whole BCS and ranking process is a joke. Teams should play the first couple of games before ranking, imo

SEC is smart to schedule LSU/Alabama early so the loser can recover in the polls and get a 2nd BCS bowl. Not that some other SEC team wouldn't step in, anyway.

Get ready for the obvious - one of these 2 will win it all again next year. All LSU loses is Claiborne. Also gone is Jefferson -which is no loss at all. They will actually have a quarterback that can throw downfield in Mettenberger. Bama loses alot more, but Nick Saban will reload. You should be on "ESPN Comedy".

don't think I have ever seen a more stupid decision than the above!

I'm just not sure LSU can go another regular season in the SEC unbeaten, especially with Les Miles coaching. I think Oregon or USC has a great shot at getting to the title game next year.

Unleash, LSU's schedule for next year is much easier than this year's, and believe me. Not having Jefferson will be a major improvement. I could never figure out Miles undivided loyalty to him. He will win 11 or so again. He does it almost every year. Last night was proof that Jefferson has had nothing to do with this team's success. The fact he didn't make any adjustments during the game proves he is truly insane, but you can't knock his overall record.

I dont know how USC's depth will be but I think they could have played with anybody this year. End of the year, they were no lower than a top 5 team imho.

couldn't agree more. Oregon is not far behind. They are so loaded with speed and skill on offense, that losing LMJ will not hurt at all. I actually think SC or oregon are two teams that could end the $EC's run. Both have the talent and speed to compete with any $EC team.

I'll agree with you about the speed and skill, but their defense is the question. LSU's defense played very good last night considering Alabama had the ball on LSU's side of the field most of the night. LSU's offense was terrible, and Jefferson had the worst game of his lame career. He absolutely sucked. They held Bama to 6 quarters of football without a touchdown until Richardson scored in the 4th quarter. Saban completely out coached Miles. They are now even in wins against each other. You will find out early how good Bama is next year when they open with Michigan. I don't think the game will be close.

It is funny how Alabama's offense sucked and LSU had an off night. LSU averaged 35 ppg and put up 40 on OOC bowl teams like Oregon and WV. In two games they had 331 yards and 9 points on us. It wasn't a bad game our defense is that good. We play a physical type of game that few people can hang with. It is the opposite of the dink and dunk, fun and gun stuff that you guys seem to prefer. I like it when the other team has trouble getting the ball across the 50. I like to see their players taken off the field exhausted, beaten, and demoralized in the second half. You guys keep looking for the next super pop gun offense that takes over for a year or two. I will stick with a boring physical game where my team dominates the line of scrimmage.

We have been playing LSU the 1st or 2nd Saturday in November since the mid 50s. I wouldn't call that date early or give any credit to the SEC.
