Oregon QB Darron Thomas declares for the NFL Draft

OH MY ****ING GOD!!!!!!!! Of all the players I expected to leave he was never even a thought, but I guess that means its time for Bennett or Mariotta to step the **** up!

I don't even see him being picked up as anything but a WR undrafted. Fascinating Decision.

I guess this explains that maybe those rumors were true..... There has been talk on the Ducks premium boards that a lot of the coaches thought Bryan Bennett or Marcus Marriotta would take the starting job from Darron Thomas during the spring practices. At the time we all thought it was a load of bull ****, but maybe there is more truth to that rumor then we ever imagined.

Other rumors...... please don't tell me you are talking about sanctions because I am tired of every fan spewing that out like it is a legitimate reason. I think DT just figured out that coming back he could not really improve his draft stock and he might lose his starting job so why not go.

Anyone without a duck beak knows that it would be far from shocking if it turned out Oregon was involved in some serious NCAA violations. Oregon's current winning is great, but the trade off is that Oregon is known as 'that' school (along with fans who are nouveaux riche clowns, at best).

I realize the NCAA is still doing their investigation, but I was just hoping better then to hear this trash from Buff fans. The fact you just assumed that DT left because of sanctions was disappointing because the only fans who think that way are more brainwashed then UW fans. He left because he probably realized his draft stock could go no where and assuming that its due to sanctions is kind of stupid.

Sorry for the rambled post slightly tipsy.

Wasn't Darron the passenger in the car when Cliff Harris was pulled over?

Yes. But surely this team captain didn't do anything wrong...

I would be willing to bet the guy hasn't been to class since August. Probably couldn't come back if he wanted to.

Seriously lol? The guy graduated and now has his degree.

I stand corrected. My mistake. Usually, there is a reason, other than poor judgment, for a decision like this. In my experience, these guys are not stupid, they just know there is no way they can be eligible to play the next year. If he has his degree, then good for him. That said, I doubt he'll get drafted.

Way to show appreciation for a guy that led Oregon to arguably the best two seasons in school history.

I love DT and know that if not for him the Ducks last Rose Bowl win would still be 1917. I also know he led us to a number 3 ranking and 3 points from being undefeated. He has been a great winner and while the other guys have not stepped onto the field yet I believe they have more upside then DT. Sure I don't know yet if they have the winning attitude that DT had, but I still have to look at the bright side of things!

All kidding aside...

DT still threw for 33 TDs versus just 6 ints with a 62.5 completition percentage and was #2 behind LMJ in all purpose yards in the Pac-12. He passed for about 2,700 yards and had all those stats despite missing one game so that's still some good stats.

But you can bet NFL personnel will be asking about that night with Cliff Harris and that might pull his stock down.
