All is Not Well in Aggieland

But they'll always have 2011, the year of their first national championship in a major sport since 1939. And that's considering Women's Basketball a major sport.

Wait until Fraud Sumlin's offense flops in the SEC. Aggy will be crawling back to the Big 12 in a few years

I seem to recall people saying we'd be doing the same thing. Do you see that in our future? I didn't think so.

Wainaminnit. The move to the SEC was s'posed to provide a recruiting bonanza for A&M.

Bwahahahahahaha-furkin-hahahaha

Aggy will be crawling back to the Big 12 in a few years

Stupid notion. The SEC move was never about competition; it's all about money. In a few years, Aggie and Mizzou will be making more than any PAC school with the new SEC TV deal, probably triple what a Big12 school makes. It'll be hard to fathom how much the SEC will make while mimicking the 'Larry Scott' tv structure.

Is it bad that I hope they do lose them all?

I gotta get over the Big 12,11,10,9,8,9 hate

They will be more irrelevant than ever in the SEC. SEC isn't a Texas league, never will be. Outsiders. Big 12 they were at least at the table with the big boys.

BTW: You think Aggy was poor in the Big 12? This is a program that in the 80's wanted to triple Bo Schembelcher's salary to get him to go there. (Sherrill took the bait) Money has never been aggy's problem.

It'd be ignorant for ANY school to thumb their nose at tens upon tens of millions over the next decade or two, as you suggest. If winning was everything, Boise State would have a good seat at the table. But they don't because the concept of 'winning' takes second seat to 'TV sets'.

Since I was a kid in the 60s...The Ags have always lived in the shadow of UT. With the exception of a few seasons they have never done anything notable. Their fans and alums are die hard through and through. Just last season I talked to a friend and said they broke your heart again.

Me too. I have to say though (maybe its a Wyoming thing), by and large, I end up being very good friends with a lot of Aggies. This scares me a bit. . . .but we seem to share a similar world-view.

You find yourself more turned on by cows than women?

The idea that aggy would try to go back to the Big 12 is pure lunacy. While money was probably a motivator for the move, a bigger factor was their desire to get out from under UT's thumb. Pretty much the same reason we left.

It is actually pretty stunning how consistently Aggie screws up almost every situation, even when they have no business doing so.
