Complete guess on my part, I have no info whether CU is interested here, but Luke is the son of former Jacksonville Jaguars HC Jack del Rio, who is one of the favorites to succeed Dennis Allen as the new DC of the Broncos. Assuming del Rio gets the job with the Broncos, I don´t think it´s a huge stretch to think his son might transfer to one of the Colorado High Schools. Luke is supposed to be one of the top QB recruits for the class of 2013.

Jens that was pretty damn insightful connecting the potential move of his dad to Denver which has now happened. Reading info about Luke on the web turns out he recently transferred to a pass happy offense in Florida and had a great season which has increased his stock. If he transfers again to play HS in Colorado, or even if he doesn't, I would think CU would take a good look at a pro-style QB with football in his blood and a reason to want to play in Colorado.

And I'd hope were he to spend a season here that he'd get exposure to what CU was selling as a program on the rise, because a NFL coordinator with prior HC experience can one-and-done pretty easily, leaving no other connections to the area when the son is in college.

I don't know if they are interested, but his dad was an all american linebacker at USC

Let's remember that we are in a recruit's thread. Keep it on topic and cut the crap, please.

Regarding Luke, I'm pretty excited to see another QB prospect who seems to fit well in a pro style system coming to Colorado. I can guarantee that Rip Scherer has an excellent reputation with Coach Fox and the rest of the Broncos' staff. There's good reason to believe that we'll be a program of interest to Luke. Hopefully he'll fall in love with the state (as most of us do) and want to be a Buff.

Not sure how you can count this change against him considering it is because his dad is moving...

I know my opinion isn't going to go over well here. I just get bad vibes from this kid. Hopefully I'm wrong and he turns out to be a great QB in college. Best of luck to this young man.

Well, if he's that full of himself, and I'm not saying he is, he won't consider CU anyway. So you shouldn't concern yourself.

I can see what you're saying about the first transfer. OTOH, I know literally nothing about what was behind it, so at this point in my mind it's nothing more than a piece of information to keep an eye on.

But unless he stayed behind in Florida while his family moved here, I think the only people that can really be blamed for this transfer are Wayne Weaver (or whatshisname Khan, whoever fired Jack) and John Fox.

You are so right Junction. Go Buffs!

Regardless of how some may feel about Valor, it'd be nice to start getting kids from there...
I was thinking the same thing. They appear to be the next powerhouse program. We need to develop that pipeline. Have we even gotten one Valor kid yet?

Take the Valor smack somewhere else.

Sounds like a legit prospect. Hope to seem him in a Buffs uni

Berglund would have been a Buff if not for the off-field questions causing us to part ways (allegedly). We haven't signed anyone from Valor, though.

Got an invite to the Elite 11 yesterday after a great showing at the camp in Ohio last weekend. CSU was in on him early, but he just got an Oregon State offer and it sounds like other schools are quickly getting involved.

Looks like he'll be one of the better QB's to come out of Colorado in a while. Either way, I'm happy with Liufau. Waiting out for del Rio woulda been bad news

I would actually be fine With him Going to CSU..Would be a great pick up for them. I would love for CSU to go 11-1 and we be there only loss. But that only if we go 12-0.

I used to think like that. Now I think it would be better if CSU was so bad and so poorly supported that they decide to go to FCS for football while focusing on men's basketball and women's volleyball on the D1 level. They could join the Big Sky and have a nice rivalry with NoCO.

This is the correct answer. As long as they continue the fantasy of being a BCS level program football is going to be an embarassment to them and a money drain. At the FCS level they could win a lot more games bringing positive attention to themselves at a substantially lower budget.
