Some pretty cool Colorado helmet concepts.

These were linked to over at Uniwatch this morning. This guy did a ton of these for all sorts of schools, but I thought you guys might dig some of the CU designs.

I could do without the backwards logo on #2, but I like some of the others. Especially the monochromatic stuff toward the end.

Like the dark grey colored ralphie logo helmet

If they take ralphie off the helmet there will be riots.... and probably deaths

Smart kid to try this stuff. Not overly impressed but cool idea. I like the gold facemask

A white face mask and helmet with the black ralphie would look sick with an all white uni.

We have the perfect helmet now **** off.

Prepare yourself for a new look this year. I believe Nike is giving us a pro combat set to wear at one or two games this year. (based on Embree's comments that he is gonna talk to nike soon) The will no doubt feature a different helmet. Whether that is an alteration of the current helmet(see Boise State) or a totally different helmet (see Florida) remains to be seen.

Y'all might hate it. I don't. But jersey's get recruits. It may sound stupid, but it is reality. These kids care a whole lot about image. They want to play and they want to look good doing it. You won't hear a recruit say that they picked a school based on their cool jersey's but it can be a very big PRO in the favor of the school they end up picking.

We have the best Logo in college football. The base jersey is great too. I don't want to see CU go Maryland crazy. But I'd be very open to seeing a combat jersey with a different helmet once or twice a year. The black out jersey's could be very cool as well as a white out road jersey.

It's coming whether you like it or not. I get the feeling that the improved recruits responses towards CU is worth some of your anguish!

If it is a one-time thing, or at most a one game-a-year thing, then I can live with it. More than that, and the idea should be stricken permanently from all minds.

Does anyone here think that stars don't really matter when it comes to recruits? I mean statistically more 3 stars make the NFL than 5 stars.

It's a gimmick, and a stupid one at that. You don't see Michigan or Alabama messing with their uniforms. Stick with what we have.

1) Michigan is an Addidas School and did you not see the atrocity they wore against Notre Dame? (Edit: Thanks Darth)

2) Alabama did get a Nike Pro Combat Uni last year. Subtle changes , but still a gimmick.

If we just won a national championship, I'd agree with you. But right now, I'm a fan of Embree doing ANYTHING to improve the CU image that results in getting talent here. Wins trump any jersey issues.

Cheesus, no. I didn't see that thing that Michigan wore. Gross. What the hell is this world coming to when Michigan messes with it's own uniform?

It's the end of the world as we know it. And I feel fine.

How long will it take to cure this? Just to cure it I can't ignore it...

Overheard in a HS hallway near you: "I'm going to be playing with feathers on my shoulders." "Really? I'm so jealous, all I have are these stupid yellow lines."

de-ni-al:
-Disbelief in the existence or reality of a thing.

If I was wrong, CU wouldn't be playing in combat or other alternative jerseys next year.

Whatever happened to Embree saying when he was hired that CU would have two looks? Black top/gold pants at home and black pant/white top on the road. Leave the unis alone. I don't mind the all black for big home games, but even then leave the gold helmet. Not a fan of the black helmet at all.

Yes you do.

I think our origional ones should be the norm, but just like better facilities and such, uniforms that are in "style" are going to sell recruits as well. I think we should have 3-4 games a year with different unis. It's just the reality of the situation and what recruits look for.
