Because it is entirely possible he will. He will get a lot of phone calls these next few years.

He gave up a six figure salary to start his trek to coach his dream school. I don't see him leaving at all.

We will see. Things do change. I believe he will be here a long time, but I'm not going to pretend it isn't possible.

He's head coach at a major conference school that just won a championship. Not too many jobs are an upgrade.

(I ****ing loved typing that. :smile2:)

Back to the speech: Awesome. Tad is a great basketball and life coach. Just needs to get his own kid some dance lessons.

Nik is right. There are only a handful of jobs that would be considered an upgrade. Given the tenuous state of affairs in the Big 12-1-1-1-1+1+1, KU might not even be such a gem anymore. Although I think even the biggest CU homer would have to admit that KU remains one of the top 4-5 jobs in the country. Outside of that, I don't see North Carolina, Kentucky, Duke, or Syracuse needing a head coach anytime soon.

Quit freaking talking about Tad leaving. It's not important right now. Let's enjoy the ride.

I love how he said during the post-game press conference that he texted all of last year's seniors (at 1:30 in the morning this morning) and told them that the Buffs would be playing the game tonight for them. And to a man, each person interviewed echoed that. They are playing for each other and it shows.

Christ, people! Maybe we should have just forfeited all of our games this year so Tad wouldn't seem so attractive to other schools. Would you be able to sleep more soundly then?

Bohn knows that he has a bball coach who everyone needing a coach in the country will be calling. Tad would only consider KU and I don't think Self is going anywhere. As long as the money is competitive, Boyle will stay. Like Mac said, CU is a gold mine. With the new PAC 12 money for facilities, the academics at CU and the Boulder 'post card view on every corner', as some other fan board stated, all sports here should prosper. I think we're okay.

March 11-12. Tad Boyle is coach of the 2012 PAC 12 tournament CHAMPION COLORADO BUFFALOES!

For the f---ing moment nothing else matters.

You really think there's only a handful (say less than 10) of basketball head coaching jobs that are a better job than CU? Really?

For Tad, probably not that many.

In general, if a coach was a mercenary there are probably about 30 better jobs and 30 equivalent that may pay better.

Maybe a few more than that, but not many. Look, CU has great facilities, a fantastic campus, all the support a coach could want, his team will be on television every night out. Money is not an object, he'll get paid market rates. There really aren't too many better jobs, and KU is realitically the only one I can think of that might be attractive to him.

There is very probably quite a few that would be considered "better" than CU. However, I think the point is that the list that Tad would even consider leaving for is pretty short. Quality of life for his family is as big a consideration - if not bigger - for him as salary or "bigtime-ness".

None of us was terribly shocked when Bzdelik went to Wake Forest. Can anybody honestly say that Wake Forest is a better job than CU now? This isn't the same place Boyle came to.
