Athletic Dept Taking 100 kids to ABQ

The Altetic Dept. really recognizes the importance and impact the students have.

I imagine this will be an awesome time!

‏ @cubuffs
Students: top 100 students in loyalty program will get an email invite this afternoon. Others will need to go through UNM: 877-664-8661

@cubuffs

The invite will be for a road trip costing $50 that includes bus transportation from Boulder to ABQ, game tickets, and hotel accommodations.

Looks like they will have to pay a little bit to go. I'm sure it's not cheap for the AD so they are trying to cover some losses. Still, $50 is pretty cheap.

Go Buffs!

$50 is absolutely nothing for that experience and they might have to charge the kids for the tickets based on some NCAA rule or something. I can't see why they would drop $30,000+ for the trip and then worry about collecting $5000 back.

This is likely your answer, I had the NIT revenue structure explained to me and it was pretty F'ed up, so i imagine this is caused by some really well thought out NCAA rule.

I think in the future at the keg we should move the students to the upper decks so we can make more money off our seats!

:wtf::ban:

Kill that idea with fire. Punishing the students for the success of the team is the wrong move. If anything we need to bring them down lower somehow instead of stretching them from the floor to the concourse

This is a great move by the AD. I have been as critical of Bohn as anyone, but it's time to give him some credit. The AD is really stepping it up for CU hoops.

Dude. It's okay.

No way should the students be moved away from the court.

You can bet that student ticket prices will go up a little bit though. I think that's ok. Right now they are ridiculously cheap.

Nah bro, they got to sit there for the last 30 years for practically free and for the midterms and finals they take there. think about the dollars and old people

Agreed. Bohn deserves enormous credit for the C-unit trip to the Pac 12 Tourney, and now to the dance (god I love saying that!). This move by the AD was simply brilliant! They have probably started something that will at least by copycatted in the Pac 12. Larry Scott was heaping praise on Colorado for this move, and knowing him he loved the fact that it brought such positive attention from the media on the the Pac 12 tourney when not much else did. We are literally seeing the birth of something big at Colorado.

look for a slight bump in season ticket prices for b-ball this year. I just realized that I have had season tickets since Patton's last year. love it.

I'm already scared by how much more $ my season tix are gonna cost, especially considering I'm going ot be moving ahead of Nik.

Fortunately, they are earning that extra money and not just expecting us to grin and bear it. They are finally building a program after all these years. The future is very bright. I have very little problem paying a little extra to help that along.

I said this in another thread, but I'll repeat it here: I volunteered to pay $50 so that no member of the C-Unit gets left behind due to financial constraints. I think some of the rest of you can do the same. $50 is not much to most of us, but to a student, it's food for a week. Step up, allbuffs.

Yes. If any of you are able, please do this. I sent Mike Bohn an email and he was very appreciative in reply. Not sure if they'll actually take the collection, but I think it's important to make the effort. At the least, it lets Mike know that fans love what he has done with these C-Unit trips, we're motivated to do our part to build CU basketball, and we're ready to step up.
