Here's the story. I have been planning this trip to Utah (snow dependent) for the last month. I leave thursday evening and return Sunday. Well, when it rains, it dumps. They are expecting 20+ inches of snow starting Friday.

I also have the option of going to ABQ to cheer on the buffs. I've got it set up with a hacked phone so I SHOULD be able to watch the game, but that is dependent upon cell phone signal on I-80, which will be spotty at best.

SO, am I a bad fan for going on this ski trip?

even though I voted no and I know how much you love snowboarding. It is not very often that you can drive and see the Buffs play in a NCAA tournament game and last time I checked it snows every winter.

I voted yes, but I'll wait for 'Tini's opinion before I really take a side.

20+ fresh in big or little cottonwood is a religious experience. So this is kind of like a pilgramige. I for one support your right to practice religion as you see fit without interference.

p.s.

can I vote No, snow is not a bad fan but is still a douche?

You're a dick.

It has nothing to do with the poll, or snow or basketball. You just are.

Mormon?

The other thing you're turning down is lots of tail. After the Buffs' win: "Excuse me [giggles] are you Nate Tomlinson [giggles]?" "Why, yes. Yes, I am...uh mate, or sheila, or whatever. Yes."

I voted no because you are young, and young people make mistakes.

You are a bad Colorado resident and lose brownie points for leaving the state to snowboard when you have the greatest mountains in country right in your own backyard.

Voted yes.

I'm guessing this ski trip isn't even a once year opportunity, you could do this trip with relatively short notice multiple times a year. NCAA tourney, not so much. I'm hoping Colorado will end up being regulars to the tournament, but that would be only once a year at best and is far from guaranteed. You've got the option to go to ABQ instead of Utah? You get your ass down there.

I seriously question not only your fandom of CU, but who the hell schedules a ski trip through the first and second rounds of the ncaa tournament?! do you even like sports? this thursday-sunday is the BEST time to be a sports fan all year round, and that's usually without the buffs participating in it.

yes, you are a bad, bad fan!

"I like polls" gotta like the randomness. At least your reason for not going is fun - some of us have to work.

Then again, working doesn't prevent me from watching the games on a big fat TV with a frosty beverage in hand - driving on I-80 makes those options less likely.

Wow. I thought you of all people would understand...

Does this help: I've got a free place to stay slopeside and am getting hooked up with tickets. I'm also going with people who used to be locals in the area, so I will be getting the beta on the good lines....

If you go to Albuquerque you will regret not going to Utah. You can still watch the game in Utah since it is a night game, and have an awesome snowboarding trip.

No, will be driving during the thursday night game. I'm trying to remedy that with streaming of game to phone, but feel success is unlikely

Mods - Move this to the pub.

Snow's Utah ski vacation has little to do with CU basketball, other than an expression of his guilt for missing a landmark CU experience while in pursuit of freshies.

And his contrition comes off as bragging.

If you had access to a Gulfstream, this wouldn't even be an issue.

At the end of the day, we are only the sum total of the choices we make.

Cosmic justice will happen when the Buffs win 2 of the all-time great down to the wire games in tourney history, Snow gets no cell coverage to completely miss them, he falls and breaks his dick getting off the first lift, his woman tells him that she's only been seeing him to get close to Rugged, and his dog won't even acknowledge his existence.

At least 3 of those things are unpossible.

If you go skiing instead of going to see the Buffs play, you'll feel guilty. If you trip to 'Querque instead of skiing, you'll be sad.

You're effed either way. Might as well get drunk to numb the emotions.

you left that door wide open. Here is a big question, is this free place to stay available next year as well?
Probably not. the free place hookup is aware of my misgivings, is driving out with me, and has threatened to disown me if I bail.
