Baylor Looking To Build New Stadium

We need to step the **** up and announce something bigger than a new scoreboard.

They're going to spend $250MM to build a 45K seat stadium? Seems a little weird.

Maybe a similar situation to CU with a business owner selling their company and having a large chunk of change available. Drayton McLane just cashed out of his ownership of the Astros because his heirs didn't want to own it. The deal closed recently which is now allowing him to donate a large amount to fund most of the stadium.

It appears Baylor is building up the marketing of their program so that they don't get put on the brink again. Smart move.

Lot of money to spend for empty seats. Baylor has historically averaged 25-30k per game. They may have big ambitions but I don't see them winning a lot of games without RG3 and some of the other talent they are losing this year.

They are more likely to sink back down to the bottom of the Big XII and see their attendance sink as well.

Not sure how long he'll stay but Art Briles is a very good coach. And he has DEEP ties to Texas high schools that he has built over the years of coaching there, so I wouldn't bet against him finding more talent. All that said, it's still Baylor, and to quote Bama Charlie, "They don't take their football seriously enough", or as he would probably put it, TDTTFSE.

CSU can ask Baylor if they can borrow it a few weekends a year so that it can be their new stadium too!

That stadium does look nice, the one they currently play at is a dump and nowhere near campus.

Was only there for 1 game, which also sucked, but my drunk recollection went something like this: "Why am I in Texas? What's with these frontage roads? That bear looks sad. I thought the chicks were supposed to be hot!!! where the hell are we driving? Is there something wrong with Baylor's stadium because this place must be for a high school. Wow that claw thing is super gay in person. Are we really losing to these jackwads? I must be unable to see the scoreboard. I'm rushing this field, f*** Texas" Do'nt remember a river, and definitely don't remember a river I'd be willing to walk along.

Their artist rendering pictures are a lot more flattering than the MS paint shots of where CSU might put their stadium that those 4 douche-rocket fans were posting on ramnation a few months ago.

Serious question: Are frontage roads not normal?

Frontage roads are normal enough. Stopping at yield signs on frontage roads drives me nuts, though. Texans stop at all yield signs.

Yes, in Texas, we see a yield sign, spend a few minutes trying to figure out how to pronounce the word (and finally settle on 2-syllables "yeee-uhhldd"), then drive a little bit right as someone is coming.

And may god have mercy on your soul if you try to drive in the rain. Texans fear precipitation behind the wheel more than baby jesus himself.

I thought the new fear was the super devil.

Texans fear precipitation behind the wheel more than baby jesus himself.

Do Texans fear precipitation more than they fear baby jesus or do Texans fear precipitation more than the baby jesus fears precipitation? I suppose both could be true.

I believe it's super devil>devil>precipitation>baby Jesus

The only thing Texas doesn't fear is Mexico.

Texas just hates Mexico, even though it is pretty much the same place.
