Larry Scott on Colorado and the Pac-12 tournament move

"I'm a believer in trying to get this raucous atmosphere there because that translates well on TV. So much of what we're trying to do is change the national perception and to do that you have to have the enthusiasm of a fan base like the kind of crowd we have here."That crowd he was referring to was made up of Colorado fans.
Who knew the Buffaloes would be the barometer for the Pac-12's future?

Wait, so 17 fans made all that noise? That's impressive.

Good article until this gem:

He nearly crashed the middle of the country's college landscape by attempting to get four Big 12 schools, including Texas and Oklahoma. But that didn't happen and he settled on Colorado and Utah, two schools that had wanted for years to be considered for Pac-12 membership.

I think there's a big difference between "on" and "for". Or at least I hope there is.

I had the same exact thought. Really took me away from reading the article. They know that we were invited in the 90s and were involved with almost every scenario that was proposed last year.

In this context, the meaning sure seems the same and it pretty clear. For some reason we still don't get any coverage. Some D1AA and DII programs get more national coverage than us. I know we haven't been great over the last few years but since we've started winning it still 0 coverage. I'm glad it motivates us and creates more fans. We play well from the underdog position it seems.

That was bad because I seem to remmber Larry Scott saying that Colorado was in EVERY expansion scenario they had.

Lefty, good to see you at the pool. Nice to have intelligent chat instead of just keeping my kids from fighting.

Does it do much for the perception of the conference when your regular season champion is so bad that thy can't even make the tourney?

I think it's well known that it was a down year for the Pac. It worked out well for the Buffs, so we can't complain too much. Conferences go through cycles, and there's little doubt in my mind that Pac basketball will return in the near future.

Does that answer your question?

Man, it is gonna be SO awesome whenever realignment starts up again and Baylor gets stuck in the WAC.

Don't you have something better to do? Wait you live in Waco so that's a no. You guys should probably worry about the 14" dildo the NCAA is gonna shove up your asses in a few years for your dirty ****ing program.

Might not even be a WAC, think of the banners Baylor Bears, 2XXX Sun Belt Champs Basketball, 2XXX Sun Belt Runner-up Football.

Of course those will be the good years.
