Brooks: Marshall Believes Young O-line Shaping Up

The helmet/pant gold used to be soooooo bad

Also, Nembot not practicing til today is a bummer. He definitely didn't get a head start on learning his new position

Moved Alex Lewis inside. Interesting move.

Going to be a tough year with the line so young, some of them just haven't physically developed yet. Good news about that is that they can grow together over the next couple of years.

If we can be effective running the ball that will help a lot, much easier technique for running than passing and the coordination is a little less critical. Also run blocking doesn't take as much energy out of the guys and it seems like you get fewer injuries run blocking.

Interesting that Marshall considers Bakhtiari and Harris our two best OL. We may be "younger" but last year Munyer, Dannewitz, Handler, Harris, Crabb and Lewis (even at TE) all played their first snaps ever. They all add a year of experience along with Bakhtiari. It's still TBD how big of a loss Adkins/Miller will be (probably more than most think)

5 years in a row I hear this tune in the spring.... I will withhold judgement until I see it on the field against CSU.

Time for Marshall to earn his sizable paycheck. We are experienced enough to be an average PAC-12 line.

This team will only go as far as the OL can take us. I think it's a talented group. But they are young, which makes them a bit undersized. I'm hopeful that we'll see improvement. Starting in 2013, we should finally have depth back on the OL and only be playing vets unless someone is a superstar.

Considering we don't have a d-line right now, if our O-line didn't look good against their competition we would be in trouble. In fact, good should be an understatement. It should be O-line looking dominant over non-existent d-line.
