I hate summer. Bring on September. Also, die forever dubstep.

I love red rocks concert season, so I would prefer not to skip summer

I'm trying to get much more into baseball than I've been for years. I need my sports fix to get me through.

only season that sucks in Colorado is late late fall/early winter (Nov/Dec)... and that is only because basketball historically hasn't been fun to watch at CU, and football the last decade has been meaningless by Nov. sooooo ya, everything else rocks.

Summer in CO is fantastic. I lived in the PNW for 6 years and CO Summers are >

Got many CO summers under my belt too, but where else will you see mountains and ocean together on a crystal clear day? Thank God that CO has 300 days of sun a year whereas PNW only gets like 100. Otherwise, my retirement location decision would be much harder.

Agree on the ocean. Just would like one you could swim in. The water on the OR coast is freaking cold, even in mid summer. The PNW would be in my top 5 places though.

Especially Washington - no state income tax versus like 9% in Oregon.

Double edged sword - they get you on the the other end with 9.25% sales tax whereas Oregon has no sales tax. Never really done the number crunch, wonder which is better no income tax or no sales tax or a just "right" combo of both?

No sales tax for out-of-state-resident-servicemembers in Oregon.

For the record, as many complaints as I've had about Kabul, the weather is not one of them. Warm dry summers (no rain), pleasant dry fall, cool dry winter (okay, we had quite a bit snow this year) and this Spring is brilliant. One perfect day after another.

But yeah...everything else...

That's why you find a place in the Vancouver, WA area and do your shopping in Portland.
