Hey allbuffs,

Anybody know if the Pac 12 Network will offer online streaming for all of the games? If so could you link the reference?

Thanks

(apologies if this has been covered)

I want my Directv!

Wilner:

Re: P12Net and DirecTV/Dish: Fans should not start to worry until July, even Aug.

Not sure the league will have deals with both major sat carriers before P12Net launch, but I'm fairly certain it will have 1

And if I had to bet a nickel, I'd say P12Net's 1st deal will be with DirecTV.

I am getting pissed. I want to either upgrade my Dish or get DirectTV, but I don't want to do it until the P12 deal is struck with the carrier. Is there any particular reason they want to wait and potentially **** that up by waiting untilt the last minute?

directtv does not have a deal in place at this time, so you want any leverage, you need to wait.

eh, anybody with a modern TV can stream it in high def from their comp to the TV. cables aren't even expensive anymore.

One way or another, I'm getting the game on my TV

Look at PlayOn and PlayDVR. Both incredible pieces of software (for Windows) that I use to stream stuff to my Roku player. I'm getting rid of this cable!

i sent a nasty-gram to directv awhile back and said that if they didn't carry the p12 network, i'd drop them for someone who does. not that they probably care. but, i have been a customer basically since they started. i got a form letter back, of course. and it wasn't helpful in the least, of course.

we'll see.

I love DirecTV. But, once, I was in a battle with them over a billing issue. I asked to speak to "your manager." I told the manager that if she didn't fix it, I'd drop DirecTV. She said, "Go ahead." And I've been with them as long as you, or pretty close.

Anyway, DirecTV will do the Pac12 deal. No doubt about it. They are just trying to get the best price possible.

I can't begin to describe how much I respect that. Great to see a company with some balls. It makes me want to order DirecTV and buy some stock.

Larry Scott is very forward looking. He's probably planning to make it as easy as possible for people to subscribe and stream content to the device of their choice (AppleTV, iPad, PS3, Xbox, Roku, PC, etc.) without a cable or satellite subscription. That is the future. It's probably also a major sticking point with DirecTV and the other big providers who haven't signed on yet.

He is forward looking. That aside, this stuff always drags out to the last minute as each side sees if the other will blink.

Nope. Rep. I honestly don't get the satellite TV elitist attitude of folks. I've had comcast TV and internet for years, and had great service. Plus, Larry Scott likes them...

I've had Comcast for 6 months. They have mis-billed me 5 of those months. When Comcast can figure out how to charge me the "correct" amount, I'll stop thinking that DirecTV is miles ahead of them. I can't wait until I move in June and can dump Comcast again.

Interesting. In the 10+ years that I have had them, I don't recall being incorrectly billed once.

I had Comcast...they sucked. I cancelled, moved, and they billed me for my new "service", along with a moving fee. I had to call them and explain to them that I had a Dish on the outside of my house, and unless they could show me how they were owed for it, they should drop the bill. I had to practically threaten to drop them every time there was a problem. Their customer service sucks....

My experience with Comcast is that they used to suck but have been great the past few years.

I didn't have a problem with comcast. I would call them every six month to cancel my service and they would always drop my rate. Then one day they decided not to so I canceled and signed up with direct-tv. Comcast called a few days later with a great deal.
