ACC signs new $3.6 billion deal with ESPN

HA doesn't even compete with ours. Sucks to suck.

wow. 17 mil per school, AND IT GOES TILL 2026. Both the SEC and Pac12 deals end significantly sooner than that. By 2020, they will be at least 10 mil per school behind the upper tier conferences.

ESPN got itself a hell of a deal iyam.

Here's food for thought: after every school upgrades their facilities across the land what is the next "thing" that schools will do to entice FB recruits? There's a ton of extra money to use now and while other sports will be added, it doesn't seem like there's really anything "extra" schools will have, besides location and the coaches.

Build better facilities than the rest.

If CU had all the money it needed.... There's only one thing i would do. Make our helmets solid gold. 24KT gold. **** Notre Dame and the "gold flake" helmets. Those would look like scrap compared to ours. I would do anything to steal Notre Dame tradition..... 1989 NEVER FORGET!

ACC might have panicked a bit. College sports is in the middle of potentially the biggest shake-up in modern history.

College sports is driven by football and football is morso than ever dividing into the haves and the have nots. We know that the SEC, The Big 10, the Big 12, and the PAC are locked in as haves. Conferences like the Sun Belt are a have-not. The WAC has effectively collapsed as a football conference. The MWC hung it's hat on the Mtn Network and now that is dead, their payout per team for a season is less than 10% of what the haves are paying out. Losing TCU and Boise after losing BYU and Utah isn't going to make them any more appealling or marketable.

In the middle are the conferences struggling to stay afloat or sink. The Big East is going nationwide to try to stay relavent, C-USA has to be concerned. For the ACC the question is simple, do they stay arguably a "big-time" conference or do they sink to the level of C-USA or worse.

I wouldn't be surprised if ESPN came to them and said "We have the time and money for one conference, will it be you or the Big East?" The ACC leadership may have looked at this as a do or die deal and bowed to ESPN.
