My New Favorite Youtube 62-36

The blocking in this game was just mind blowing. I want to lick the screen right now I want that so bad.

As much as I love re-living that day, it depresses me to know how far we've fallen since then.

Best football game I've ever attended.

Watching that team I forgot how much talent we had on both sides of the ball.

it is sad we have had so many more low points (05 Big 12 championship, 01 Fiesta Bowl, Montana State, etc..) than high points (WVU, Oklahoma) in the past DECADE. But we need to turn the corner. While we will never forget that day, we need something big to happen so we can put it in the distant past.

The thing that hit me the hardest, "they go 4 deep at running back."

Yup. Cortlen Johnson was running third string, and he was no scrub. He probably starts every season since with the exception of one or two years.

what happened to Graham in the NFL? The guy was a great receiver in college.

Graham was a first round pick of the New England Patriots in the 2002 NFL draft (No. 21 overall).
He played with the Patriots from 2002-2006, picking up Super Bowl rings in 2003 and 2004. Graham then went on to play for the Denver Broncos (2007-10) and the Tennessee Titans (2011).

Graham has stone hands now. He has made his living as an outstanding blocker

I started watching CU much more closely after this game. I remember the buzz in the middle school hallway the week after the game. Crazy

I remember ESPN just going bonkers on sports center on the upset, and it being a top story for a few days in the sports news. I could not get enough. Plus, my Nebraska buddies were getting an earful for 10 years of crap, and they were so stunned they just took it and didn't even put up a fight.

No better feeling than watching that game. By the end the LB's didnt want to play anymore. That is the kind of running attack I hope we are building for. This year I think the O-Line may be better than advertised based on the extra year in the system. The running game should also improve behind a beast of a FB and a lighting and thunder type running game with Ford/ToJo and Payne.

Credit to SD Buff on rivals who put it together. I'm sure BCS was just about to throw him the hat tip.

My favorite Buff game, ever. Still have the free pom poms and a piece of the south end zone turf from that game somewhere, although I've hidden it from the wife so well I've forgotten where I put it.

Yep, 11 years ago this fall. Wasn't even in school yet (*sigh*). We need new highlights, soon.

Johnson was actually the #1 guy for the majority of that season including the start of the 62-36 game. In fact he tore it up the game before at Iowa state. It just happened that Purify and Brown were the hotter backs in this game and ended up getting more carries, but Johnson started it.

And Purify doesn't get enough credit for setting up 6 touch down Brown.

This is spot on, CB ran all over kNU too, but Purify owned it early on and (I think) finished with more yards. BP was the victim of a ****load of plays that ended inside the five when CB was brought in.

Brown actually did have more yards. Remember, one of CB's long TD runs was as long as Purify's to start the game.

C.Brown 24-198, Purify 20-154, Pesavento 3-22, Houston 2-4, C.Johnson 1-3, Drumm 1-0,

But Purify had a long TD run called back on a phantom holding call as well (I think refs started thinking, the hole can't be THAT big without a hold, can it?)

The worst part for me was, "That offensive line was magnificent today" and "Big 12 coach of the year is on Colorado's sideline"
