Bruggman had a monster junior season for perennial power Brophy Prep (same school as Ray Polk), as he passed for over 2,400 yards, 37 TDs, and just 2 INTs. He camped at Stanford last summer and took an unofficial visit to USC during the season. His size might be the biggest concern for college coaches.

[h=1]8 junior football standouts at ASU[/h]
Arizona State hosted a Junior Day on Saturday for eight local football standouts from the class of 2013. It also got a visit from a senior, Mesa Desert Ridge quarterback Parker Rasmussen, who will go there as a preferred walk-on.

The eight juniors at ASU were Brophy Prep quarterback Tyler Bruggman and receiver Devon Allen, Lakeside Blue Ridge linebacker/safety Chans Cox, Phoenix Mountain Pointe offensive lineman Kenny Lacy, Peoria Centennial defensive back/running back Jalen Ortiz, Paradise Valley quarterback Ryan Finley, Tempe Marcos de Niza defensive back Priest Willis, and Chandler Hamilton defensive back Cole Luke.

It goes without saying... but this was a HUGE pickup for them.

Big get for the Cougs. I think Bruggman will thrive in the spread. That is also a kick in the gut for ASU. Bruggman was arguably their best shot at an in-state blue chip.

I'd rather he went to Wazzu than ASU. Oh well, he'll be on his back either way with the pass rush we'll be sporting here soon!

Ho hum another day in the Pac, this guy is a good looking qb. Might as well get used to this fellas, qb play in this conference is pretty damn strong top to bottom. We need one of our qb's to get on the level and quickly.

Transferring from Wazzu

Wow. That's him and Apodaca. Wonder if it was playing time or Leach? Halliday is a senior and Bruggman a RS frosh, so he would've had his chances this year and a really good shot the next 3. More troubling for Wazzu is what depth this leaves them with at the position.

Yeah I'm not sure why he's leaving

I read that he was running 3rd team in the spring behind Halliday and walk-on QB Falk. Despite that, it seems like there has to be something more - perhaps he didn't like Leach and Pullman ain't for everyone.

When I lived out in West Texas Mike Leach had unquestionable success but he had the reputation of being tough to play for.

I'm thinking that Leach's act isn't going to play in Pullman. In Texas he had a deep well of speed that he could recruit from, even after the big hitters took their pick of it.
