The Colorado Buffaloes and Colorado State Rams won't meet on the football field for almost seven more weeks, but when they do, first-year CSU athletic director Jack Graham hopes the fans of both schools show each other more respect than he has seen during the rivalry in recent years.

Haaaaaaa he sounds like a bitch.

I think the level of venom that gets expressed between CU fans and CSU fans at basketball games and football games is inappropriate and it's mean spirited.

I can actually agree with lots of what he says here. The CU v CSU game at a neutral site is a total **** show. Both fanbases were much better behaved in Boulder - despite the Rams rushing out field. I think it mainly has to do with the fact that neither side feels much ownership with the game in Denver. If you are a visiting fan going to an opposing stadium, you usually keep your mouth shut and be respectful. Conversely, when visitors come to Folsom, I generally want them to feel like they had a nice time, and I don't want to be responsible for tarnishing our rep. Anything goes when it is neutral turf.

I can't speak for basketball

I'm glad he said something.

It's got to get fixed from the CSU side because that's where it started. Sonny did the same thing with CU as Mac had done with Nebraska.

More Denver cops.
Earlier kickoffs.
Duh.

(Or just bring the game back on campus.)

I know this is tough but the best thing we can do is ignore them

It's a weird thing with CSU. A win means less to me than any other game on the schedule. A loss would bother me more than any other game on the schedule. It makes it impossible for me to feel any excitement for when we play. It's completely a feeling of, "Let's get this over with."

This sums up why the game is bad for us. All risk, no reward. What do we get if we beat one of the worst teams in the country? Nothing more than mild local interest.

shut up, tini.
Alright, let me expand on this. By Captain Jack saying it was mean spirited, he sounded like a little whiny 6 year old. He should have said "it's disgraceful to our respective universities" instead, which if he said that I would have taken responded in a different way. I just found the wording, very....whiny.

The smack talk is not going to stop, and the yelling and all that **** won't stop either as long as people are drinking and it's at Invesco. There's just too much bad blood between the teams and the students for it to happen. Moving it to Folsom, will stop it a good chunk, but only because there wouldn't be many, if any CSU students at the game which would make the contact and trash talking minimal.

I'm kind of hoping that CSU fans cause another "riot" this year and it leads to cancellation of the RMS contract at Invesco.

It's a totally rotten, immature rivalry that should be conducted in a better manner. It's a level of nastiness that isn't even enjoyable. Would love to see the hatred still there, but with the dynamic changed. However, with both teams sucking ass + a ****** location, it's hardly surprising to see this.

Virtually our entire fanbase despises this series, and they despise the fact that this game is part of the season ticket package even more. Bohn needs to find a way to get out of this series, or at the very least get our home games moved to Folsom and remove any games that remain at SAF from the season ticket package.

id settle for home games at Folsom and road games at SAF... wouldnt you?

The answer to getting the fans to settle down and treat each other with respect is easy.

The Denver PD and Argus events staff can liberally apply fishy fertilizer in and around Sports Authority Mile High before the game.

Yup. I was surfing cubuffs.com yesterday looking at possibly buying season tix so I can restart my priority points for a hopeful return to Colorado someday (old man had season tix for years while we lived out of state - follow in his shoes.)

Anyway, so I see the $85/ticket special for endzone (specifically section 213) and I'm like "It's done." Go to the cart and what happens "You are required to but these additional tickets to purchase season tickets - CSU at SAF" for $55 a pop! So my two tickets went from $200 to $320.

Immediately logged off the site and didn't buy tickets - the additional purchase of RMS tickets for more than half of the season ticket price is absurd when pushing that special. Eevn more absurd when lifelong season tix holders have to pay that additional $55 on top of the $300-$400 per ticket they already pay.

I'm trying to offload my RMS tickets.

I just wish we had more games in Boulder

Maybe. So long as I didn't have to actually buy tickets to the game, drive there, be harassed by DPD and the stadium personnel, sit in crappy seats in a soul crushing crypt to watch a football game that the outcome is pretty well known prior to it kicking off, followed by getting kicked out of the parking lot 30 minutes into an hour grace period, and proceeding to get stuck in traffic on my way home.
