What position battles are you most interested in following?

Not sure how much we'll hear from fall camp since it's closed to the public, but I'm anxious to start hearing news. The short list of what I'm most interested in:

(1) QB battle (Will Wood start game one?)
(2) D-line (How many true freshmen will get significant playing time? Will Jagne qualify and be in the mix-I hope so!)
(3) DBs (Will any of the true freshmen start game one? Will Orms be healthy?)
(4) O-line (Will Nembot steal a starting spot?)
(5) WRs (Who will the starters be and will G Thomas be the speedster we need for kick returns?)

DBs for me. Have some talent coming in there, plus guys returning form injury. Really excited to see how Hendo has continued to develop

The qb spot is, of course, huge for us. Id guess its between 3 guys Wood, Webb, and Dillon. I just dont see it with Hirsch, thats jmho. Im excited to see which freshman, regardless of position, steps on the field and is ready from the get go. It could be somebody we've talked about alot, sometimes tho, its a guy that wasnt expected to do it. That's the fun part.

the DL. Lots of competition from the frosh. Should be interesting to see if Bonsu ever plays again and if we are starting 1, 2, or even 3 frosh DL...

^^^This^^^ QB as well. Fingers in my ears regarding the secondary! I hope to hear nothing about DBs until Sep 1. when they are all exceeding expectations and ready to play.

1. QB-this will make or break our season
2. DT-who steps up behind Pericak, and is Bonsu an option
3. CB-who starts opposite Henderson
4. RB-who steps up behind Jones, especially as a power back
5. TE

I would also throw in RB. I am interested to seeing if the Tony Jones spring info was hype or real, along with can any of the freshmen step up right away in a Speedy style?

I wouldnt be surprised if Abron played well, dude can ball. Id hope Payne can give us some carries too.

All this QB interest....while important, I'm not exactly excited about it as I don't have much confidence in any of them....hopefully it turns into something VERY INTERESTING in a positive way though

I'm more excited/interested in the CB/DL battle.....DE - FENSE!!!

Great question! Right now with the Buffs the position battles are probably the most exciting thing we have to look forward to...
The D-Line is intriguing because it is essentially setting up our expectations and hopes for the next few years, so I think that is the most interesting.
The same goes for the DBs, but it is more about them living up to their potential than someone emerging as great.
The QB battle is obviously the most immediate and important one for our season.
If the O-Line situation is a battle it is probably a bad sign, but I think everyone is intruigued by the development of Nembot for the coming years.
The RB and WR competition feels like a battle of being the most slightly above average player.

Honestly, position battles scare, especially when EVERY position is up for grabs. However, I agree - I'm psyched for the KR and PR battle since we don't have one single person who showed they could play that part last year (4 years)

Special Teams: Kenneth Crawley and Gerald Thomas cause field position will be the key for this up coming season something we lacked all of last year

QB

We have what looks like on paper a tremendous amount of depth. Former starting DI QB, 4* transfer, Elite 11 true frosh. In a pro set offense, we need a smart, mobile guy to make good decisions and be accurate. Still can't help but wonder what we'd be like if Pigeon hadn't burned Tyler's redshirt, but whatever.

Other than that, the DL looks like the biggest area of concern to me. If we can't get pressure on the QB and disrupt the offenses of Oregon and USC, it is going to be a long year, at least long games like those 2 were last year.
