"What happened to us at Kansas wasn't because of Jordan," said Beaty [, now the receivers coach at Texas A&M. "If you give that guy protection, he'll pick you apart. If he has time, I'm telling you, he will hurt you."

Beaty coached the Jayhawks' wide receivers when Webb made 19 starts for KU in 2010 and 2011.

Not being able to protect your qb will make even the best look ordinary. Watching this Penn St qb right now, he hasnt done much. Hell he doesnt have a pocket to work with, kinda hard to do much.

I actually think he's going to be better (than the last two). He hadn't been Halkinized, ergo " you're ok, I'm not ok, and that's ok."

I've said it before. I've got a good feeling about this kid.
I have the same feeling you do. I like guys that play with a "chip" on their shoulder....those are usually the winners when you look at history books at the college level

If Coach Rip likes him, then I have nothing bad to say about it. Bottom line, the kid has palyed BCS level FB, and didn't look too shabby doing it. CU is in rebuild mode and I think it was a good idea to pick up Webb. There just isn't room for error now. CU has to show on the field this year. Bowl game or bust.

Hard nosed, a bit undersized, with a chip on his shoulder. Hmmm...Mike Moschetti anyone?

Joel Klatt, Ver. 2.0. Except Webb looks like he has more FB saavy than Klatt, who was a baseball player first.

(Still can't forgive GB for his stupidity in handling Klatt's CU career. Aside from the four hand-off day vs. Baylor that blew his RS; GB's keeping Klatt in both the Miami and UT games, subjecting him to unnecessary injuries, including a concussion that eventually ended his shot at the NFL: "Gary, why did you not substitute for Klatt in the 4th quarter against Miami?" GB: "Why the thought never even crossed my mind!"----you can look it up!)

Joel Klatt? Really?

Caleb hanie is backing up Manning.

I never thought people really viewed Klatt as a NFL level QB, or even a potential backup in the league.

I actually thought if GB and staff did their jobs, Klatt would've been a tremendous backup for the Buffs. But recruiting never really was GB thing. It's been a long time since the Buffs have had a NFL level QB under center. Hopefully Dillon will break the streak.
