Oh boo hoo. While still not ideal (would very much rather have the game @ Folsom), this game is still only an hour away, at a college stadium (a ****hole, but nonetheless a college environment), and cheap tickets for admission. So why not just go up there yourself. Way better than Mile High, IMO.

That's a long time away, CSU may have to break that contract because they won't be able to afford it.

We own that place anyway. Better than playing at Invesco.

because instead of playing at a ****hole in Foco, we could be playing at ****ing Folsom and still making a mil. Sigh.

I feel mixed on this one. Would it be better that no CU fans buy tickets so CSU loses a ton of money on the game, or do we buy out the stadium, make it a home game for us and make CSU a ton of cash?

By 2020 CSU will be playing in the Big Sky conference. Man, that will be an embarassing road trip.

If CU continues to dominate the series, it won't be an issue by 2020. The series needs to be killed off. Or at least do a round robin where every frontrange team gets to play the flagship.

This caught my eye... Jesus ****ing christ Bohn. :bang:. I bet he even thought that he "took" CSU on that one. Guy just does not get scheduling.

Could be off base here but could this be related to the end of current contract to play in Denver in 2019 (i.e., after the deal ends in 2019, and games return to campus, the next year would be at CSU and CU is demanding a $1M guarantee to play there?).

Don't know if that's the case, but it makes some sense to me...

Old news, this has been part of the Denver game contract since the beginning.

This.

This is not a new development. I'm not as pissed about this as I would be if I heard there was some kind of extension to the existing contract.

Agree. If we take care of business on the field, it will be a mute point.

i love mute points. the less talking back, the better.

LOL - cannot spell and type too fast. Either way, we can start to take the spirit out of them by drubbing them this Saturday. It started last year with that 10 minute 4th quarter drive. Their fans are already not showing up to the game and the numbers are getting worse every year. Kick the crap out of them this year and watch the numbers fall again next year. In reality, with all our youth this is the best chance they will have over the next several years to win the game.

have to jump on them early and crush their will. that's why we have had trouble with them over the years. we can't let them believe they have a chance. they'll hang their heads and quit if you beat on them hard, right out of the gate.

This game in Ft. Collins in NOT a 1 off. It is part of the deal that we got home games also.

Don't let facts ruin your enthusiasm!!!!

I tried to point that out earlier but the Bohn Bashing (hey, that would be a great name for a rock band!) is strong in this thread...

Really? What home games?

The deal was announced right before the 2009 game in Boulder, which was the last game outside Denver until 2020 in FoCo. I thought the same as they did, but I can't see where CU got any home games out of this deal either....

Was the 2020 game in FoCo actually part of the last RMS deal, or 2020 simply the first year after the end of that deal, and CSU is scheduled to be the home team that year?

The 2020 game in Foco is part of the new deal. There are no (zero. none. Not a single one) games in Folsom as part of that deal. It's basically a one off in Ft. Collins for a million bucks. IN 2020.

I'm skeptical to say the least that this game will actually take place. Seems like in the past 10 years I have read about "future schedules" with Notre Dame, Minnesota, LSU, and even the Purdue Big 10 series recently, just to name a few. Oh, and if Miami of Ohio can back out of playing us 6 months before the scheduled game, I think this is barely a lock to happen, 8 years from now. When we become a strong program again (2-3 seasons), WE will be paying CSU off so we can battle a big conference team and boost our non-conference schedule, instead of having to ride a bus to them.

maybe i am recollecting incorrectly, but i thought this last "series" deal with them also had a clause in it whereby we would play a TBD game in fort flatlands for a minimum guaranteed payout = what we would expect to receive at mile high. if i am recalling correctly, this 2020 game probably is the payoff for that promise. and, by 2020, the sheep are probably hoping they have their new stadium built and can therefore more easily make the minimum payment to CU.

but, continue on. i may be mis-remembering.
