Does Embree have the cajones to axe EB?

EB cost us the game yesterday. Yes, the OL was awful, but we still should have won that game. There were no adjustments, no identity, and a number of 'wtf' type of play calls. There was no misdirection or creativity. They couldn't figure out to handle simple blitzes up the gut from CSU.

To top all that off, his recruiting - supposedly his strong suit - has been subpar.

So assuming he doesn't figure it out by the end of the season, does Jon Embree have the guts to cut him loose and find and experienced OC? Or, has Jon tied himself to EB in such a way that he will sink with him?

I think this whole ship sinks as one.

They sink together. On-the-job training at the three highest positions on a coaching staff does not work in college football.

Nope. Think Embree will ride it out the next 23 games seeing what kind of improvement can take place.

The bigger question is if Embree has the cajones to replace anyone on the staff.

Did not want to believe it would be this bad, but you are correct. Too much I experience on the staff in the key positions. And yes, they will sink as one. The admin will not force the changes either. They do not care.

Marshall has to be gone after this season. Rip will probably go back to the NFL. Brookhart should be gone after this season. Kennedy has been hit or miss.

If Embree truly wants to rebuild this program, then he needs to accept that some people, including his good buddy EB, just aren't working. If he can't do that, then he doesn't really have the best interest of CU at heart.

If it was Embree who made the decisions to hire all the coaches then Embree needs to go with them.

What made McCartney a great coach? It certainly wasn't his game day decision making! I remember all to often complaining about many of his decisions on the field. What made McCartney great was he could motivate like no other, he was a great leader and most of all he put together one of the best coaching staffs in the country! A great leader has great people around him.

The first thing I thought after we hired an inexperienced HC was that he needed coaches under him with a lot of experience. We got the complete opposite. He put himself in this position.

I love Embree and Bienemy! The greatest of Buffs but name ONE other great football school that would let this happen with all the inexperience on the staff? There isn't any that would. This is embaracing! We are, at this point, a laughing stock. If things don't change soon I think Embo and the rest should be gone...along with Mike Bohn!

Yep.

This is the problem that you, I, and others saw coming with all the former players on one staff.

Yeah Embree needs to figure out quick that the "Colorado" way isn't getting it done, him, EB, and the rest need to adapt and start getting creative. And I have serious doubts that we can do that because I have yet to see any glimpse of creativity.

No way does Embree axe EB. This is likely going to be a 23 game sink, with *maybe* Marshall removed after this season.

DD Goodson lost the game for the Buffs with his botched punt return. That's when the game turned. EB wasn't good but that wasn't the reason why we lost.

That was just part of the reason. We only managed three points in the 2nd half.

Shud have been 14-3 at halftime.

Maybe even 17 or 21. Anyone else think that its a coaching mistake having DD back there at all? Did we learn nothing from the OSU game last year? Send all 11 to block the punt for all I care! Just dont give any chance of muffing a punt, especially with gusty winds.

I can't stop thinking about all the worry on this board a while back about long it was going to take for someone to poach EB.:cry:

Thread title should be does JE have cojones enough to ax himself? We know Bohnhead wont; he needs to get axed as well.
