University of Houston offensive coordinator Mike Nesbitt has resigned and assistant coach Travis Bush will handle play-calling duties and will coach the quarterback position, head coach Tony Levine announced Monday.

The fallout comes two days after the Cougars' embarrassing 30-13 season-opening loss to Texas State. The 13 points by the Cougars tied for the second-fewest in a game since 2007.

"We wish Mike the best in his future endeavors and thank him for his contributions to the Houston program," said Levine. "We are confident in Travis and his play-calling ability moving forward."

I know we've all had our share of knocking Texans on here, but they don't suffer bad football. I wish we had more of that here.

Wainaminnit.

The fans of the Cowboys, the Texans, the Longhorns post Vince, Baylor pre RG3, SMU, and A&M have been suffering some bad football.

Well...not Colorado bad. But still.

The students also voted on a football stadium upgrade this past year -- 100 million dollar makeover/expansion that will be paid for by studet fees, like the rec center is paid for at CU.

there you go! and that is why football is so big in the state of Texas or at least shows to take it serious enough to make changes as soon as possible - when you wait you get CU type football (how you burn programs to the ground) and (create holes you can not dig out of)... way to go cougs! you will be winning soon enough again!

Gotta think there was some internal power struggles to have him quit after 1 game. Even in Texas, nobody fall on their coaching sword that quick. Obviously a dissagreement about how the team was being managed to make somebody quit that soon.
