heh. claims they knew a trick play was coming after the muffed punt but that they couldn't get it in to the players on time. Also says if Polk had been it probably wouldn't have happened.

And he'd like to take a few calls back....now he's kinda making excuses about inexperience/nervous 1st timers

EB's full of **** and it disturbs me that he is talking about how he likes most of his calls.

However, I do like how he's talking about seeing more of Donta Abron and Christian Powell.

Jesus, I hope you're kidding

Let me clarify. I don't think he is dishonest. I just think he's dead wrong in saying that he, except for a few calls, would not have changed what did. Frankly, that's not someone who is learning from their mistakes. It is HaLkish.

Maybe, I believe it more shows a conviction in what they are trying to do. Halk changed the offense every ****ing week. That said, I strongly believe that there are regular, internal evaluations done, and areas for improvement recognized. Thanks for the clarification BTW

One would hope that. But it's hard for me to credit his statement "it's on me" and then go out and say that he only got a few calls wrong.

In making that statement, I believe he is shoudering the blame for the offensive players not being appropriately prepared. Knowing many of these coaches, I wish I could have been a fly on the wall for mondays film session. The next few weeks should be very interesting. I expect a) noticible and dramatic improvement or b) a dramatic unraveling....with the personalities involved, it won't be somewhere inbetween IMO

Ya... makes sense. My concern is that there was no noticeable improvement throughout the year last year except for a few individuals. One could credit injuries for it... but I'm definitely not expecting significant improvement on O anytime soon.

...and it has been said before, but it is hard to just give a complete pass for last year's offensive struggles with six senior starters.

There seems to have been a problem with teaching the offense (or whatever it is) to the players, no matter who the coaches are or what the scheme is. I won't forget deehan running the wrong way last year on the crucial play of the game for a long time. It has now lasted 6 years and 1 game. I'm sort of tired of it.

Amen brother.

Hawk installed the hurry up offense one offseason. We also tried to have a power running game one year, OL was promptly ill equipped and we went away from it quickly. Just sayin'. (not saying Embree and crew are Hawk and crew, but it also doesn't mean they're a massive improvement)

Hawkins never had the hurry up offense. He had a no huddle offense but they did not hurry up. They stood around looking that the sidelines for signals but did not run an offense that kept the defense from substituting.

Great. This one sounds a lot better. The Rams looked gassed big time.

If the hurry up is what we are going to run. I'm fine with it but how about we stick with it for a few seasons. The fact we have so many new young kids playing on top of that lets throw in a new offense scheme and you really have a recipe for disaster.

Also we have to get Gerald down the field more. This guy is going to be a player.

let powell line up at tailback some and give him the ball... then put him in at fullback and let him protect the qb then give him a pass in the flat... keep the defense honest by moving some guys around (while getting them the ball) - eb's offense is way to predictable just by who is on the field and where they line up. By the way, after watching the game for about the fourth time last night... Kasa is really bad - I can not count how many times he was beat around the end, could not disengage his lineman and get to the second tier to block and just looks slow!!! I have pulled for this kid since recruited to florida, what a let down, he needs to man up.
