The best ROI right now is the "Basketball Excellence Fund".

If there's one group in the AD that has earned our support, it's the CU MBB program. Whether that's becoming a new (or renewal) season ticket holder or direct donation, let's do our part to show the AD that when they deliver an exceptional product we respond with huge support.

Amen, we need to show the AD that when they back a program and build a winner we'll be there to support it.

The wife and I are seriously considering getting basketball season tickets. I HATE talking on the phone. Is there something online that can help me or do I just have to hop on the waiting list?

Football could use the money too, just sayin. BBall already got their facility built.

Cost per win in the 12th row for basketball last year ~ approx $9
Cost per win for football 2nd deck ~ 70 per win

Basketball is the way to go, you can sit a stones throw from the court for the cost of the last row in Folsom.

Just don't ignore football because you don't like losing is all I'm saying. ROI has no place in college donorship. The chicken does come before the egg in college athletics. Alabama didn't find the money to pay Saban out of nowhere, they had it onhand because they had a huge base of people donating and demanding the best. Withholding money doesn't do any AD any good.

I dont withhold money i am not that stubborn, but football is losing more and has 100X the annual commitment hoops does. If had a few hundred lying around I'd give it to hoops right now and hep to close that gap.

And ROI has a place in everything.

I won't give football another dime until they decide to take it seriously.

I think I will spend next years fb donation and ticket money on bb tickets.

I hate to break it to all of you, but CU doesn't take basketball any more seriously than football. They just happen to be better at basketball.

I just want to repeat this. I realize there are a lot of variables that make this in basketball's favor, but it's a STEAL at how cheap season tickets are. I'm in the 8th row in the corner right now, with a seat back, and my season tickets are $120 each. That's it. I'm thinking about upgrading to seats closer to center court and those are still less than $17 a game.

Hell, the general admission tickets (which are on the baseline and not really bad seats) are only $60 I believe. That's $4 a game. It's worth the investment, and easily the most entertaining ticket in town right now.

If this administration had their **** together, I would open up the checkbook. Not an insignificant amount of cash...however, as it stands now, the checkbook is shut. Sorry.

You should save your cash for your daughter's new school...just saying.

Post edit: Unless she chooses furd. In which case, you'll need a second or third mortgage.

I have a post on this in the can for future weeks, but, long story short, the more season ticket holders this year will mean fewer Kansas fans at the KU game next year...

YES. I don't want to see any beaker blue in the arena next year.

As someone who has always had basketball season tickets and only once had football season tickets, I completely agree with just about everything said above. Great bang for the buck, and well I like basketball a lot more for many other reasons, but...

We cannot ignore football, that is what pays our way to be able to put more money into basketball. Overall athletic department revenue is based on football (TV, conference money, merchandising). Only a few schools can pay their way without a strong football program (Kansas, Maryland), we need to have strong support of football to support basketball.

But with that said, I still don’t have football season tickets

I will chip in for a basketball excellence fund if it promises to cover the twin grandma's season tickets.

Basically already did by dropping my football season tickets this year for BBall tickets.

Methinks their fans are going to be in for quite a rude awakening when they expect things to be like they used to be in the Keg.

Of course, hopefully we send a message loud and clear this December in Lawrence that CU basketball has completely transformed.

I can't decide which would be sweeter, a win at Allen this year, or showing them the new atmosphere and win at the keg.

**** it, lets do both!

Did you read my post? Completely consistent...need a sign that this administration is serious.

When it comes to football you are right, no vision in the coaching search, waffling on the practice facility, a generally defeatist mind set.

On the basketball side though they've already built the practice facility you call for in football, we have a great coach widely regarded as one of the best in the nation, we are coming off a championship season, and a strong showing in the NCAA's. What more could you ask for from that program? The basketball excellence fund is off their minimum targets for the year why not step up, reward a program headed in the right direction, and help to close that gap?

Coors still could use some upgrades. The elevator is a disgrace and has needed replaced for years now. Need to clean up the seating area and bathrooms. Get chair backs on the bleachers like promised when Coors was built.

I once had season tickets to football, men's and women's basketball and volleyball. Women's basketball was my first love in sports and always will be. I first gave up the football tickets as I got tired of freezing my rear off. The men's basketball tickets went during the Patton years.

If KMM had not been fired, I was not going to renew women's basketball season tickets. I know lots of people left during her years and will never come back. However, I moved out of state, so gave up the women's basketball and volleyball season tickets.

The donations I make to the CU athletic department I designate for the women's basketball team.
