Bohn just said spring for facilities announcement. I'll post more later.

Left early. Bohn spoke for maybe 2 minutes. High school pep rally for old folks to reminisce about how great things were 20 years ago. Any more, talk of the national title depresses me more than it inspires me.

Same page as Nik. We talked about it the whole time we were there. Came off as pathetic attempt to get excitement from old stuff like finding a $1 bill inside an old pair of pants. Poor attendance and I guarantee they got ZERO new donors out of it. Everyone who was there was a major fan who wanted a reminder of the past. Except for a few of us who have had enough of that bull**** and are sick of hearing it. Dropping football season tickets next year. Will not donate to the AD. I really wish they hadn't even put this thing on.

6 more months??? Ugh hard to stay positive with all the delays especially with the way the season has gone so far

Spring? What's this February recruiting class supposed to look like?

Say what you want about Coach Embree, but leaders our supposed to resource their teams. What's this staff supposed to recruit with? On field success?

Announcement that the announcement will be in the Spring!

I think, in a different thread a while ago, I said that I wouldn't be excited about new facilities until there were two more announcements announcing announcements. They've got one more.

I'm getting excited to be excited!

Poor grammar, retard.

So, you're saying we should have saved the money to add to our downpayment on facilities?

Poor grammar, retard.

I'm sure it is. But if it was unclear, when I said "leaders" I meant "Bohn" and when I said "teams" I meant "Coach Embree and his staff".

The AD should be giving the coaching staff something to work with so they can recruit.

Small time leadership. While our visionless leaders put on an embarrassing high school pep rally, Oregon and everyone else continues to build and build, and win and win.

Oregon should not be included in that, they have a very rare situation up there that few schools can match.

It's so damn frustrating. The last thing I expected to feel from this event was depression.

Bohn's big rallying point was that after drastic budget cuts gutted the AD for the past decade they're now in a position to fully staff academic support for athletes and have even been able to hire someone to do marketing.

I'm not mad at Bohn. The situation is what it is. CU is small time.

I don't get it, aren't we rolling in the $$ now? Surely they've had projects in the queue they could have announced - something like an indoor practice facility?

If I can trust a certain poster over at Rivals I really think we will get the big announcement in the early spring. His posts have been very positive and usually what he posts isn't bull crap. Really sounds like CU is trying hard to not do what csu did. When they finally make announcements they want to be able to break ground almost immediately after.

I'm not as down on this as others but can understand why some are like 'bleh'.

Bottom line is i've been locked into this team since I was a child and i'm not going anywhere. We're hoping for a miracle at Michigan pass with this facilities deal but I have a feeling it will get done. We really need the coaching staff to come through. Coach Mac basically doubled down on them. His speech was great but the goals have been thrown out publicly. We are going after USC/UCLA. Oure goal is to make it to the Rose Bowl. Without the fans, these things will never happen, so on we go. When you see things through the difficult time, it makes it that much more enjoyable when it turns around.

GO BUFFS!

Glad to see those former players brieflly and appreciate them making the effort to attend. But at 8:30 after 2 hours I had to bail per the rest of my life obligations. And I left annoyed and disappointed!

I went there to encourage a bunch of youngsters who are in a challenging situation and I didn't even get to see a current player! Or hear a coach, or see the video.....

Hope it was eventually ok for the players... Oh well Saturday around the corner...

My take away was from it all was "dear fans ,do your roll/job, show up." But, I only saw Barnett, Boyle and Bohn speak, I left right after the video. My hopes were not too high going in but I left discouraged.

Also, for a venue that is suppose to host Dispatch Saturday, the sound in there was ****! The sound board guy really blew it.

Seriously a weak attempt at anything. If BuffsMadness gets less than ten times that turnout, I would be surprised.

Hearing that the Westbrook speech was the highlight (he was funny).

Also, Mac gave a talk to fire up the team and led the crowd in a "Surge!...Surge!...Surge!" chant toward the OL he had on the stage.

(Hat tip to Rivals board.)

Last night was a cluster****. I know it was the first one but I'll never go back due to how bad it was. And the 1st bank center is a 2 minute drive from my house.

6:30? Nope just come around 7:15. Microphone issues for the whole ****ing night. Pep rallies are not fun. The only reason we liked them in high school is because we were out of class. I can't really cheer for no ****ing reason.

I'm sorry but last night actually pissed me off more than it pumped me up. I wanted some sort of vision from the AD and got nothing but yeah look at these stars that were great a long time ago! I didn't even care that they didn't announce the facilities. I just wanted a ****ing vision of what to look forward to.

I really do not understand why we (us fans) expect anything different? This is the way CU has rolled my whole life...actually one of the reasons I started rooting for the BUFFS, always liked underdogs. Saying all that - this suks!! It is really growing tiresome the way this school/administration treats the ATM (sports programs and fans). Reminds me of the homeless guy sitting on the street corner wanting a handout with nothing in return... We as fans are going to have to rise up and make our voices heard.

by the way - one of the only thing I like about hawkins was the healthy kids day. That was squashed by embree to bring the "old timers" back for some touch football??? I am also growing tired of living in the past. Healthy kids day let the future see the program from the inside...but now?? well, you know, more of the same old flaunt the past stars
