Bama 5th, Oregon 6th in current computer polls

What a ****ing joke:

Despite the overwhelming belief among human voters that Alabama is the best team in America and Oregon is No. 2, the computers aren't buying it. At least not yet. The Dash looked at five of the six rankings that are used by the BCS -- Wolfe doesn't release its first public rankings until Sunday -- and four different teams are ranked No. 1: Alabama (Sagarin), Florida (Anderson & Hester), Oregon (Billingsley) and Notre Dame (Colley and Massey).

Yes, that's right, Notre Dame is considered the best team in the country by more BCS computer polls than Alabama. I can already hear the outrage from Tuscaloosa.

Currently the computer polls have a top five of Florida, Notre Dame, South Carolina, WestVirginia and then Alabama in fifth. Oregon, which is ranked second in both human polls, doesn't even make the top five.

makes sense, nd has played a better schedule... I hated nd for years and now they actually don't bother me to much... most hated to date now alabama, usc, oregon,nu and the new england patriots, just say'n

Meh, strength of schedule plays very heavily into the computer polls. Oregon and Alabama will move up as they progress through conference play. Except for the week where Oregon plays us.

yeah, I think that it's valid to say Bama and Oregon still need to beat a couple top teams before what we all know to be true to become scientific data. computer rankings are not the end all be all, but by the end of the season they will look pretty accurate

The only joke is complaining about a formula. The inputs are known, the outputs should be expected. Duh.

Maybe 'Bama has a point, as they did play Meatchicken (although they have yet to travel further north and west than Fayetteville, AR) in OOC, but Oregon should maybe think about scheduling an actual football team in OOC play to get some respect.

Hi, first post here, long time lurker. Hope I am welcome here, I am moderator from ducksattack forum. Not sure if you have seen this article about weak occ this season for the ducks, here is it - http://www.registerguard.com/web/sports/28746206-41/state-games-oregon-ducks-game.html.csp

Anyway. Right now I'm watching the game on espn asu vs Colorado, good to see Colorado scored touchdown right now, 20-14, are you guys impressed with asu so far? Am nervous about ducks road game against ASU.

ASU seems to have a few studs on defense, but I still think Oregon will shred them. If you can figure out a way to stop Foster, that would go a long way.

True,DJ foster looks good so far in tonight game. I think Ducks will be fine if they continue their performance from huskies game to ASU then ill be able to breathe easily.

What's going on with The Buffs in second half? First half was fun to watch, especially last 30 seconds before halftime. That was awesome, I wish it was 7 not 3, before going to halftime. Thanks a lot Webb for throwing bit high to his receiver. :-/

Any of you planning to take a trip to Eugene for game vs the ducks? I hope it wouldn't rain on 27th, members and I from Duckattack is trying to set up tailgate before game, and feel free to stop by and say hello to us, we will have signs that say Ducksattacks. Good luck for the rest of season, no offense to you guys, the currents coach for buffs seem not working out?

Worst coaching staff I've ever seen. Absolutely awful preparation, play calling, execution, adjustments, you name it. They should be ****ing embarrassed and if Embree had any pride in CU he'd resign.

Wow, how the hell did they end up in Colorado? Who's other on the list beside them before he got hired?

You're obviously not a logical person. Computers can't show "respect", but people can. So the computers rank them 6th, but people rank them 2nd meaning they do have respect.

Les Miles

Pretty much the whole staff were players in the late 80's to early 90's. CU had big athletic budget cuts when they wet hired and Bohn gave in to the big donor and McCartney pressure to hire a Buff to secure donor money. It's not working out to say the least...

Les Miles? Would he be good hire if that happen? Could land some big time recruits and better staffs with him. Sorry if I turn this thread to something else!

I don't think he was a reasonable candidate, but BCS told us so

It would have been interesting though.

Who was the top 5 choices? Seemed really slim and then Embree came out of no where

Well then, hopefully Buffs would be able to find better replacements or the current coaches need time to recruits their own players, he's in year 2 right?
