Boise State's Black Uni's

Sorry to disappoint you. They aren't better than ours with the black and gold.

Sorry to disappoint you but the shiny black helmets on jerseys from the 80's doesn't look good. While I agree our color scheme is better our uniforms, like everything else in the AD, is outdated.

Our older generation of fans don't want to hear it but the uniforms have kind of become a hit with recruits and is part of the recruiting package being used. Like our facilities, our uniforms could use a little touch up.

Even that **** school can do all black better than us and they are smurfs :wtf:

I agree 100% - we can not even do the "little things" right at this point...I have a high school kid and when I ask her (and friends) what is important, everyone of them say the uniform is really important...It attracts kids. Kind of like wearing a suit, if you feel you look good then you perform better. Our uniforms are traditional, which is cool for a game here or there. I think these teams with all the options really help in recruiting and actual play on the field. I have had enough of all the living in the past, traditional uniforms and bring back all the old guys... It is time for CU to join the race!! Start writing a new page in the history book...If we had multiple modern looking uniforms, which is what the kids want (hell look at some of the high school uni's?) at least when we are losing, we will look good doing it... BTW, the gloss black helmets look cheap!! I think flat black would look way better>> CU can not do anything right these days!!

Like to see the matte black helmets, but I have to disagree 100%.

I have been saying this for years. Throwbacks are cool but they should never be treated as an every-game option, much less for multiple years. I am 26 -- a half-generation older than the kids entering our program now -- and our uniforms look really dated even to my eyes. The Barnett-era uniforms looked better.

Good discussion. I don't believe this topic has been covered before. I look forward to all of your new insights.

It's a change in discussion from JE sucks, EB sucks, Bohn needs to go, Jordan Webb has an arm like my wife, our defense gives it up like a freshman at her first frat party, CU is the worst team in football, lets contact the regents, write Benson.....maybe you could start one of those?

I agree. The shiny black helmets aren't that great, IMO. Since CU is already black, I would go with a different "alternate" look instead of all black.

Under the current leadership we will never be what we once were. As much as I like the throwback uniforms, they are probably not appropriate. Those days were the best we've ever had as Buff fans. If by some chance we ever return to that level of success, then bring them out again.

At this point I don't care if we bastardize our uniforms with italic letters and gimmicks.

I agree.

If it helps recruiting, and it must or why would the schools do it, I am all for it. It might not even work for us but it can't hurt either.

Anything to get us back to even a shadow of what we once were.

Oh, hell yeah. We might as well draw more attention to the fact that our team is playing like a homesick abortion.

When you suck ass you have to have someting to sell recruits. Mountains, shiney black helmets, SuperNintendo with Madden '93, etc.

The time for this is when you are a team coming out of the cellar and use the new uniforms to bring more attention. Doing it now would look desperate be counter productive.

CU needs to prime the pump. Find a few few five-star studs and give them some cold, hard cash. Do that for a few years and you've got the ball rolling. You build inertia and take it from there.

The key is to do it in a smart, untraceable and deniable way. Politicians do it every day. SEC teams do it every day.

Look at the crap Chip Kelley was pulling at Oregon, paying $25k to a "recruiting service". Cam Newton. It's blatant and the NCAA does nothing, which means it's ok by them as long as you can plausibly deny.

This is true.

And Butch Davis is available. I am just saying.....

That's exactly the wrong way to do it. Keep the coach out of it for deniability. All you need is a small group of boosters. The boss doesn't get his hands dirty.

And this would be cheaper for our boosters than actually paying the 250 million for upgrades.....

I say we pay broncos players to come dress up in our uniforms and pretend to be our players and then we will destroy fools. We just hide our current players in a shed during the games so no one will figure it out.
