Sacky in hating California thing shocker.

I jokingly this week said all the players care about this weekend is getting to In-N-Out ... someone else said they only get it if they win. Sigh.

Make ´em earn it. They are embarrassing the school and the state every damn week and I don´t get the feeling they see much wrong with it.

Seriously though, I was annoyed enough at this to start a separate thread...

We are a 41 point underdog and we're posting pictures of the team eating burgers and fries the night before a game. It's like we strive to be as embarrassing as possible at all times.

I feel the need to point out that I do not hate all things California. My sister and brother in law live in California. I like it there. One of the nicest road trips I ever took was up the coast from SFO all the way up to the Oregon border and then back.

That was the same trip where we tried In-N-Out burger for the first - and only - time. It sucks.

I went to an In-N-Out at Fisherman´s Wharf in SF one day and couldn´t quite see why everyone is so enamored with it, either, but then I didn´t feel the need to point it sucks.

More power to those who like it.

I was hoping to see hookers, Playboy Playmates, porn stars or Lindsay Lohan when I opened this thread. Huge letdown.

You know Rick Neuheisel - allegedly - used the proximity of the UCLA campus to the Playboy Mansion as a recruiting pitch?

absent food-borne illness, i am pretty certain that the presence or absence of hamburgers the night before the game will not impact our already statistically insignificant chance of winning.

some of you guys need to relax. i'm sure they are washing the burgers down with tiger blood, so we're probably good in any case.

I concur. In-n-out is ok but I've had MANY burgers that were better. In a weird coincidence, two of my favorite burgers come from less than 20 miles apart in central Connecticut.

I´d like to point out I am not concerned about their nutrition and whether or not this is the food athletes should eat before a game. If this was a home game they could all be on their second Big Mac menu as I am typing this for all I care.

I actually think Nations and Five Guys is better than In N Out out here in California. I don't hate it though but the burger is a bit small.

I like In-N-Out Burgers- went to them at Fisherman's Wharf as well, Phoenix & Las Vegas.
No they aren't the best but they are better than McDonalds, Burger King, Wendys, Sonic, Jack In The Box and Good Times. I give them a 7 out of 10.

In N Out is mediocre at best. Their fries are soggy.

I have been eating In N Out for many years, and I have NEVER had soggy fries there. I do however, ask for them to be extra crispy as I like mine a little more "browner" than they way In N Out normally serves them. For the cost, I don't think I can get a more tasty, or a better deal on a burger than I get at In N Out. As a bonus, they peel and prepare their potatoes right on site which is certainly not the norm.

Haters. In-N-Out is delicious. And no, you can't say it sucks and then say ______ random non chain burger joint is better. Idots.

had soggy fries in phx

In-n-Out: 63
CU: 17

Not a big fan of In-n-Out here in Dallas. Seems like a California cultural institution.

I'd expect a Whataburger in Anaheim to get the same level of enthusiasm.

It's not so much that they're eating burgers... I'm not delusional enough to think that we're a few complex carbohydrates from a win.

It's that they're posting pictures on our team account saying "Look at us eat cheeseburgers!" Like they're on vacation the night before the game. Whatever, I'm nit-picking, but it would be nice if we weren't running a mickey mouse operation ALL of the time.

But as you correctly note in your other thread on this topic, if the team was 5-1, we'd be praising the coaches for how clever they were to find ways to keep the guys loose going into a big game. It's a results-oriented business. When things are down, the program can do no right; when things are rolling, the program can do no wrong. Just one of those things...

Burgers and fries.................? Must be Carb and fat loading for team speed!

Who is the team nutritionist? They need to be replaced. ASAP!

So ... Oregon State players upset UCLA and gets In-N-Out burgers as a reward.
CU players get In-N-Out for sucessfully finding the hotel.
Can't wait to see this story re-told on television tomorrow ...
